I think short hair cuts on girls are SLAMMIN (that's what we call it in Mary Kay)! You just have to play with it a bit. Try using some wax....see what you get. Play with different products. I just recently got my hair cut shorter than usual. My stylist used a straightener for the first time ever on my hair...I couldn't believe the difference it made. You won't really know what you can do with it until you try a ton of different stuff. Keep in mind also, people generally are only mean when they are jealous about something..or hurting themselves...so you make an easy target to take it out on. So just ignore their comments and show them who's in charge. Let them see you have too much confidence to care what they think!!! (Even if you really don't, just fake it until you do!!)

First of all, don't let people get to you; because, who knows you better than YOURSELF! Always remember that. (Take in mind, the song "I am not my hair" by India. Arie)
Now, I must say that I feel sorry that you feel that way about your hair.
Just know that you are NOT the only person who has had this problem--I should know, I had my haircut a few years ago and how people's perspective change about that--is scary!
First what you have to realise, is that nothing about you is different inside, but just your hair; and while some people opinions might change (by the way, if they don't like you all because your hair is shorter--then it's better not being friends with them anyway--trust me, there are much MORE profitable people than those) they probably were to fickle to hold any true trustworthy friendship, and you should be happier you don't have to worry about them being in your life, because now you know that you will make TRUE friends and companions.
What I realised back in 2003 (when I got my hair cut) was that once you make that decision--that's it! And worring can't undo that. So I have to realise that you can face this in two ways:
1. Worrying and stressing (which is hair's enemies by the way) OR 2. Facing up to the problem and handling it!
Now, I hope you take number 2 and become stronger in this and take action to better yourself; but I wouldn't tell you that and give you no advise, so here is some *tips* that you and everybody would benifit from all in a form of methods:
*The healthy hair diet method*
1. Take one multivitamin a day
2. Drink 8-11 glasses of water
3. Get you protein, if not in a diet then I recommend a dietary supplement from GNC (and make sure it's 100% whey isolate protein [the easist to digest])
4. Get 9-11 servings of [complex] carbohydrates
5. Get you fruits and veggies; but if that's not easy enough try V8 V-Fusion a wonderful alternative
and I believe that covers the important points on nutrition for you hair...next
*Hair care routine and treatment (and how not to treat it)*
-Roots-
First we got to relize that healthy hair first start at the scalp.
And what determines a healthy scalp is the amount of *oxygen*, *nutrients* and *vitamins* it is getting. And all of that is determined by how well the circulation (blood flow that carries oxygen, nutrients, and vitamins) is to the scalp!
So, now that you got all the nutrients and vitamins you body needs (pertaining to the diet method I mentioned above), let's learn how to stimulate the circulation in the scalp:
1. And that is by massaging the scalp reguarly
2. Using *natural* oils (if it tends to be dry) to nurish the scalp even more (i.e. coconut, oilve, and jojoba oil), NOT oils or rather "grease" that are the following: mineral oil, petroleum oil, yuck, the difference is that 'clogs' the pores in the scalp rather than 'absorb' like the natural oils; see big difference. Here is a product you would like to try: http://www.wildgrowth.com/Is%20it%20For%20You.htm
3. Overall keep if clean and clear of dirt so that the hair shaft can grow through!
-Hair-
Now that you are noticing new hair and your hair is growing long try these tips
1. Cut the ends of your hair about every 6 weeks so that you don't get split ends; now that doesn't mean get you hair cut, just the ends
2. AVOID chemicals, excessive heat, over brushing and harsh brushes, because you want to avoid breakage, and overall the over process look. Look for natural replacements
Now the next part might not be a hair care method, but it can save a lot of unecessary struggle:
1.Get a check at a physcian or specialist for any hair or body problem; Why? Because if someone has something like a thryroid problem in there family (which can cause hair loss) they might need to see if they have it so that they can know what causes there hair loss when I they are doing nothing wrong.
2. Similar to number 1; do not stress! Because stress can cause hair loss.
But not like that is something your facing with :) Just making sure that you have all areas covered so that you can grow you hair back quicker and have nothing in your way to worry about.
Well, obliviosly experience is the best teacher; just know that when you hair grows back to the way it use to be you'll make a better choice.

How long ago did you get it cut? I never like the way they style my hair right after I get it cut. The salon I go to is a little to 'edgy' for me but they do a good job. If you just got it cut today, go home, wash your hair and play around with it. Try buying some cute clips or headbands and play around with your new style! Make it work for YOU!
If you have been wearing the same hairstyle for a while and you are trying something different it might just take some time to get used to the change.

I had a really bad haircut not long ago. It took 2 more haircuts to get it to look better. Maybe whoever cut it can make suggestions or if the person who cut it -- hacked it, go to someone else. It does hurt when people make fun, but don't let them get to you. Be in control of your own emotions. I am sure that there are many qualities about yourself that really great! Prettiness does not equal beauty!

so sorry. i tell people this a lot. go to Regis or a high end salon and they can fix anything. There are things called extensions to make your hair longer until it grows out on it's own. or they can fix your haircut to make it more lady like, yes even babes have super short hair. Hally Berry!!! HellOoOo Nurse she is pretty and she had short hair once.
peeps who call you a "dike" are ignorant immature boobs. they need to be more respectful of gay people for one. grow up to them.
you have not lost being pretty don't listen to negative people because most of the time they are jealous and insecure.
something good will come out of this.

that's horrible. calm down and don't listen to them, some people just get off on hurting others when they see that they're having a bad day. try to relax and watch a good movie or play a game and try not to think about it. tommorrow in the morning, wear barrettes or a head band and try to make it look soft.
hair grows out. your hair isn't the only thing that makes you attractive. don't forget what's important in life. stay strong. it'll grow back before you know it...

I think you should wear it, no matter what people say or think, beacause eventually people wil start wearing it. I wear all types of bright colors to school and don't care what nobody say, because I know I'm beautiful, just have faith, and confidence!!!! Another thing, as much crazy stuff pepole wear, today, I would gladly wear my thin hair cut.

Well...You can look in magazines or on the Internet at celebrities that have short hair and see how they wear it and still look girly. if worse came to worse you could go and get hair extensions, but I'm not a girl or gay guy so i would not know wear to get them or if you even should get them, but good luck.

work with it instead of working against it. If it really bothers you, consider a pixie cut which might sound too radical upon mention, but with the proper make-up and colors can look very good.
Take really good care of your appearance, dress nicely and wear nice make-up, and remember it will grow back!
