I am looking at the Tiffany Legacy Ring and I am wondering roughly how much it costs with a small diamond in the center?

The legacy ring runs from USD$6,500 to $8,500 depending on whether you choose platinum or white gold.
Center stones vary depending on the 4 C's.
-Cut
-Color
-Clarity
-Carat
A mid quality 1 carat stone can range around $4,000 whereas a high quality diamond the same size can be $10,000.
Of course if you buy your stone from Tiffany there is the Tiffany certificate which can increase the amount of the stone tremendously. Most diamond brokers and salesman will have a certificate for the stone. One of the most creditable institutes is GIA (Gemologist Institute of America) or another one is AGS (American Gem Society).

They do sell them separately (or at least each ring is a different price) because the quality of the diamond is where the big bucks come in. The center stone can be the same size but if it is a flawless D or a included H there is a major price swing. The setting is probably a standard price. If you are seriously considering a tiffany ring let me give you some advice. I am assuming you are going to go to the Tiffany's in NYC. If so, skip it and go to an independent jeweler in the diamond district. They can custom make you the exact same ring, you'll get a better center stone and pay thousands less. Plus you'll get actual GIA paperwork - not Tiffany's paperwork. That is what my husband did and I love my ring. The only way someone would know it wasn't a tiffany ring is if they took the ring off my finger and looked on the inner band for the tiffany stamp.
