I did it before but can't remember how it was done, to busy in my head i guess!

Go to start, then go to my doccuments, then to the left, click on Create a New folder... Name it... Then drag the folder to your desktop. That's it.

Easiest way: Right click on your desktop, then select " NEW" then click on folder. That's it.

As others have said, right-click and select New Folder. Remember that the right-click button is context-sensitive so right-click on your desktop.
