But to be fair they're not emo - Emo is stuff like Rites of Spring, Embrace, and Fugazi...My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Good Charlette, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday and all the bands of that type simply suck

No, you're not alone...
But to be honest I wouldn't label Fall Out Boy as emo. Sure, that video they had a while ago seemed really emo but I haven't seen them go over the edge like Aiden just yet.
But as for MCR they have a well-deserved emo title. I mean Gerard can't decide what to do with his hair (I say for guys like myself you get what you get), their songs are very emotional (hence the abbreviation of "emotional" into "emo") and they have a lot of followers who wear dark/black clothing (they're not goth since gothic people listen mostly to metal).

No. I'm sure lots of people 'hate' them.
They're just the figureheads of an emo move.ment which is very popular at the moment. That's why people 'hate' them. People who don't like emo hate them and people who like emo don't like them because they are too mainstream.
Can't say I like them particularly, but at least they put some effort into their lyrics and are relatively humble compared to some groups that sell that amount of records

Actually most people either hate them or are indifferent. For the most part, only a percentage of teenagers like them.

I like them.And my friends say that I'm nuts cause I'm black.But I like all kinds of music and I think they are very talented young men.And gifted,they play they're own instruments,that's gotta count for something.lol

Alot of these new bands are lame as hell. I listed alot of the bands I like on my 360. To me, that's some good stuff.
