I assume you mean in the U.S.A. The law calls it "Daylight Saving Time"

United States Code Title 15 - Commerce and Trade,
Chapter 6 - Weights and Measures and Standard Time,
Subchapter IX - Standard Time.

Admended by Public Law 109-58 (2005)

It starts on the second Sunday of March of each year and ends on the first Sunday of November.

Daylight savings time begins March 11. Its called that because the hours of sunlight changes with the time. It will get darker later at night.

I can't remember the cause but this Sunday the 11th of March the clocks spring forward an hour.
