First of all, YAY for Texas!
Austin is the captial of Texas. The capital was originally located at Houston, but they moved it to Waterloo, which was later renamed Austin.
Austin is really more of an industrial city, like Dallas, but if I'm not mistaken, they did have farming and ranching there in the 1800's. If they did, it was corn and cotton, and they raised cattle...
I haven't taken Texas history since 7th grade which was... a year ago...
But I did sit in on a TX history class last semester as a teacher aide....
