Hi, I have posted alot of questions on pregnancy and how for sure I thought that I was pregnant, but very month is a big dissapointment. My periods are very irregular I was on the nuvaring for a about a year then husband and I decide to start trying for a baby, and we have been trying for abou 6 months now and no luck, I have used the opk which don't work because I have no idea where to start b/c my cycle lenghts from 1 period to the next range from 40-55 days. So I finally went to the doctor to get checked out and my blood work is all normal which I don't understand b/c how late my periods are. I am running out of ideas, I have tried everything from tracking cm to temps. I would like to hear some stories on how to get pregnant with something like this, I am in my 20's and have no childeren, I am so worried that I won't become a mom. thanks and sorry for this being so long!!!

i kept trying everything your saying and nothing worked so what i done which was really hard was not think about it and start taking folic acid cause they say that the best time to fall pregnant is to weeks after your period but your meant to have a 4day build up so the bloke is more stimulated but the more u think about it the less chance u have of falling pregnant because your body is never relaxed your always thinking am i aint i if u was on a birth control before u started then they do say that it can take up to 18 months for that to get out of you system i came of the pill and i didnt get pregnant for 6 months after that and me and my partner already have a child togerther your still young trust me do what i said relax dnt think about it and start taking folic acid good luck

I had the same problem, periods varied from 6-10 weeks. I have 2 daughters (and 3 grand kids now ;) never tried anything special, just 'kept at it' ... So keep trying for some months longer, and try keep focused on something else. If you still don't get pregnant go see a gynecologist.

Good luck and ... have fun!

You said you've tracked your temperatures - so do you ovulate? If not, ask your doctor about taking something like clomid. After I went off the pill I didn't get any periods at all - a very strong indication that I don't ovulate. My doctor put me on provera (to get my period) and then clomid (to ovulate) and I got pregnant on the first try.

Have you been tested for PCOS? That's what I have (it's pretty common, too) that screws up my cycle.

You can only conceive for about 24 hours every cycle (when you ovulate) but your hubby's sperm can live, waiting in your body for up to 5 days for you to ovulate. Therefore, the best advice you can be given is to have regular intercourse -- at least once every 5 days, and remain lying down for 30 minutes to an hour after intercourse. That way, you know you have your fertile days covered.

Good luck!

you might want to have dad tested for a low sperm count- it's more common then you think... Other then that track your temp sounds like it would be the easiest take it every morning before you get out of bed and chart it for any spikes use a regular thermometer they're more accurate then a Basel in my experience and stop stressing over it! Stress can cause your periods to be inconsistant and delay ovulation

Go to see your doctor and ask them to check for Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrom. It is hard to detect- ulually it is an endocrynologist who will figure it out. Once you know if you do or don't have it, a doctor can help you with some possible meds to help you get pregnant. I used metformin.

Otherwise, go see a specialist in fertility- they may be able to help you.
