Why would you want to go to vacant houses as I don't see how that is going to be of any help. It's hard to be a door -to -door salesman this day and time as most people don't trust people knocking on their door as they don't know what they are going to be up to. If this job does not work out why not try to get a job as a salesman in an office and call on other companies....you would probably like that better.

unless someone is expecting something, they usually dont like getting up and answering the door. after they are interrupted, they will think maybe its a friend or someone they want to see. they open the door and see you. if it were me, id punch you in the nose.
