Assuming you could go into the past and film a controvesial, or debated historical event, which one would you pick and why?

The birth of Christ? The Sinking of Atlantis, The last 10 seconds before whatever killed the Dinosaurs killed the Dinosaurs? Farmer brown during the time he SAID he was abducted by aliens? There is so much debate on so many issues of Did it happen or didn't it happen? You would be famous either way, What would you document and prove or disprove, and why.

I would choose the Salem Witch Trials as my first option. I would like to prove that a lot of "witches" killed were not really witches. My other choice would be the last half an hour before the destruction of Pompeii. I would like to know if the people knew what was coming or if it caught them completely by surprise

Hmmm, the Crucifixion? Jack the Ripper? the Kennedy assassination? Maybe the Titanic disaster. The building of Stonehenge, the biggest of all henges. Who shot first, the British or the Americans? Did Anastasia survive? Probably the bombing of Nagasaki or Hiroshima so the world can see just how terrible it was.

Actually, I would like to film the Civil War, particularly in the Southern States. I want to see how bad all this talk about slavery really was. In my reading of chronicles in the library when in the military stationed in those areas that not all those individuals who claimed they were mistreated actually were. In fact, not all those slaves wanted to be set free, having been well cared for in return for their "job assignments". It would be interesting to see how this country would have turned out had the Confederacy won. Sorry people, I never snapped to list the names for offering a source.

I'd love to see the real battle of Troy and check out the Trojan Horse and find out how much of the story is the truth and how much is just myth.
