also maybe ignatius riley from 'A Confederacy of Dunces'. I was reading that book on the train platform in Menton and laughing so hard that people seriously picked up their bags and moved away from me. That book is brilliant.

I'm a fan of gabriel garcia marquez's novel 'of love and other demons', love all the characters in the book, all of them are totally unique and have the most complex backgrounds.
