I think Akili Smith was a bigger bust than Couch and Sullivan.

Busts from most disappointing to least:
1. Leaf
2. Smith
3. Sullivan
4. Couch

ONe would say Leaf right away without hesitation. But his perfomance or lackthereof, is more magnified because of who he was compared to coming out and taken before him: Peyton Manning.

Couch was a #1 pick for an expansion team that shouldnt have been an expansion team, the "browns" never should have left for Baltimore anyway. At least some can be blamed on injuries in his case.

Everything is expected of a QB but a NT? If you cant stuff the run or rush the passer? what good are you?

as for Akili Smith......the Bengals at the time, turned down 9 draft picks from the Saints (trying to trade up to get Ricky Williams) including three #1 picks and a second rounder for the Bengals' 3rd draft slot.

Even though both Smith and Cade McNown turned out the same way in hidsight, what was better? just Akili Smith? or Cade Mcnown plus 8 draft picks?

I would have to say Tim Couch. He went to a team that could have used pretty much any kind of help and he failed miserably. In fact, he probably made them worse. The Browns have had some draft picks since that look good on paper, but then end up disappointing them in the end. Couch was just the beginning...he was a trend-setter. If I believed in that sort of thing, I could almost say he cursed the organization. Hahaha...fine by me, I'm a Bengals fan. So Tim Couch gets my vote.

i think leaf is the biggest bust, as he was supposed to be as good as peyton manning, and obviously that didn't happen, plus he had all kinds of off-field problems and wasn't even wanted after san diego...couch at least had a few chances after cleveland but never became better than a backup...sullivan never should have been drafted as high as he was, and shouldn't even be in the conversation of biggest busts yet

Ryan Leaf. A show-off with no talent.

Since I'm a Brown's fan I would say Tim Couch but really he never had a chance behind the crappy line we had for him.

Leaf because he had the most talent and went crazy instead of using it
