can I install a rear end in a 2000 Chevy. P/u with one out of a 2002?

the vin# is 2gtec19toy1142462, the # on the rear end is 15562338

Yes, i believe you can so long as it has the same gear ratio.Important on a 2wd, But on a 4 wheel drive the ratio must be the same as the one you are replacing.Good luck

The real issue is wheter this is a 4 X 4 or just a two wheel drive. If it is a 4 X 4 te you have many more ratio issues in the gearing than you would with a simple two wheel drive system.

With a two wheel drive system, you can actually put in any rear end that will fit under the pick-up.
