Katrina was a blessing to me. One I would never have chosen, but am so grateful to have experienced. For a moment, I thought I lost everything and suddenly I was blessed to realize I had gained everything. Our house was gone. Our belongings were gone. Our friends and family were scattered. Our jobs and savings and every little piece of our monetary existence was wiped out. But the goodness we saw... The love we saw... The tears I shed were ALWAYS tears of joy. The feelings were always feelings of gratitude. The life that was saved was my own. Thank you for reminding me.

Katrina didn't open my eyes to truths, it confirmed truths for me about Democrats.

A Democrat Governor that diverted levee funds to airports and waited too long to activate the national guard, then blames Bush.

A Democrat Mayor who's evacuation plan for the city (by his own admission) takes 72 hours to enact waits until 24 hours before landfall to call for evacuation, then blames Bush.

A Demcrat chief of police that fails to control his officers and the population, then blames Bush.

And the same Democrat Governor, Mayor and Chief of police then getting on national television and lying about rapes and murders at the Superdome...then blaming Bush.
