i live in a rural kansas town called iola, population 6000. no mountains, no beach. but lots of wheat fields that are windswept and beautiful in the summer before harvest. at night the cicada's sing and you can smell the heat from the day, like fresh warm bread. and driving through town is like stepping into a norman rockwell painting. there are large elaborate churches with stained glass windows and all the buildings were built in the 1850's. there is still a little bit of an old west feel to the town square. people are very kind, men open doors for women, everyone says ma'am and people stop in traffic to let you turn. i dont think there are alot of places left like this..

I live on a rural property in Australia and my place has heaps of huge, old trees scattered all over the property.

I also have an abundance of native wildlife that comes right up to my back door. Kangaroos, possums, bandicoots, goannas, birdlife etc.

I'm fortunate to live right on the beach....between...a forceful mountain runoff ...which roars just like a waterfall...and the ocean...sunsets to die for
