z+7/8=3/8 first step, subtract 7/8 to get z by itself
-7/8 -7/8
z= -4/8 which simplifies to -1/2
3t+1/15=4/5 first, get common denominators on the frations by making the 4/5 into 15ths... so times the numerator and denominator by 3 to get 12/15
3t+1/15=12/15 then, subtract 1/15 fromeach side to get t by itself
-1/15 -1/15
3t=11/15 then divide each side by 3. to divide fractions, you actually times the fraction by the reciprocal of what you are dividing...(flipped upside down)
so itd be 11/15 X 1/3 and you would get
t=11/45
^the second problem i'm not sure if i did right but i think i did...

z + 7/8 = 3/8 is the same as 3/8 - 7/8 = z
Subtract 7/8 from 3/8 to solve for z.
3t + 1/15 = 4/5 is the same as 4/5 - 1/15 = 3t
Subtract 1/15 from 4/5 and then divide your answer by 3 to solve for t.

z + 7/8 = 3/8
z = 3/8 - 7/8
z = -4/8
3t + 1/15 = 4/5
3t = 4/5 - 1/15
need to find common denominator here, which is 15, so
3t = 12/15 - 1/15
3t = 11/15
t = (11/15) / 3
t = 11/45
Hope this is specific enough. You just have to do step by step. If something is adding, pass to the other side as substracting. If its multiplying, it passes by as dividing.

In both of the problems, you have to solve for the variable. In the first one, you have to subtract 7/8 from both sides -- z -= -4/8, or -.5
In the second problem, you have to first find the common denominator for the fractions. In this case it is 15, so the rewritten problem is 3t + 1/15 = 12/15
Subtract 1/15 from each side
You now have 3t = 11/15
Divide both sides by 3 and your final answer is 11/45

problem 1.
the goal is to find out what z is
so you have to get z alone
you have to subtract 7/8 from both sides
that makes the problem z=-1/2
there for z=-1/2
problem 2.
same thing get the vaiable alone and to do this you subract (since the problem is addition) 1/15 from both sides that gives you
3t=11/15
since you still have a 3 with the vaiable and there is no adition or subtraction sign in between them you have to divide (since its mulitpulcation) each side by 3
i know algebra is confusing but it will come eventually
♥ good luck

Basically the rule is to get the variable by itself by doing a reverse operation.
In the first problem to get rid of the +7/8 you need to subtract 7/8 from both sides(to keep things balanced)
z + 7/8 = 3/8
-7/8 -7/8
-------------------
z = -4/8 which reduces to -1/2
In the second problem you do the same steps. Get rid of the +1/15 by subtracting that from both sides.
Then the opposite of 3times t is 3 divided by t so you divide both sides by 3 to get the t alone and your answer.

z + 7/8 = 3/8
z = 3/8 - 7/8
z = -4/8 = -1/2
3t + 1/15 = 4/5
3t = 4/5 - 1/15
3t = 12/15 - 1/15
3t = 11/15
t = 11/15 divided by 3 or
t = 11/15 * 1/3 = 11/45

okay you have to get the vaiable by its self so on the fris tone you have to
z+7/8= 3/8
-7/8 -7/8
z= -4/8
the second one
3t+1 1/5= 4/5
- 1 1/5 - 1 1/5
3t= -2/5
/3 /3
= 7 4/25

the problem is that you don't understand the math book or help online. you don't know enough algebra to help her.
you need to get someone who can explain it to her.
i have tutored many students in algebra and some of the common problems are : skipping steps, not understaning principles.
