i am always shocked at how many people have such strong opinions on gay rights the bottom line is gay or straight we are all citizens and should have the same rights period.the amazing thing is that there is even a debate about my right to marry i am 41 years old have raised 4 sons and worked and payed my taxes but some politician has the (right) to decide IF i can marry that's insane to me with all the screaming about gays getting married you would think the straight community had done made such a smashing success of it lets take a look at the divorce rate.

Because we're all human beings and nature has a reason for everything. The world needs to stop focusing on what separates us and instead focus on what connects us. We all share the same BASIC DNA, why deny what nature creates? Life has rights ... ALL LIFE. As such, all life deserves to be treated with dignity and CIVILity.

It doesn't. There is no way one can equate civil rights to gay rights. they are not even in the same category.

civil rights are those rights given to someone who is a citizen of a particular country. citizens of any given country all have a sexual orientation... (straight, gay, lesbian, bi, or asexual).. bottom line, regardless of orientation, citizens all hold civil rights..
but it seems certain politicians and religious leaders are trying to deny civil rights to gay citizens.. which would be unconstitutional.

well, if its ok to deny rights to gays then its not hard to imagine rights being stripped from other minority groups
limit gay marriage, limit mixed marriage, limit marriages between ugly people, then you can only have approved marriage,
why stop there
then we are back to arranged marriage
if your parents have that much crontrol why not the governmentm and if your not allowed to marry who you want, sleep with who you want, do what you want then we really wont have any civil rights at all
who is to stop gthe govt from telling us what to where?
what to eat, how to pray?

No one should be discriminated against for reason of ethnicity, creed, or sexual orientation. Civil rights protect us from the discrimination of bigots that would impose their ideology and bigotry otherwise.

I pay my taxes. I am gay. I can love. I want to formalize my love with a state-recognized ceremony with those that I care about, to be present at that ceremony so they can share with my partner and myself, the sense of commitment, love and respect we have for each other.
