Usually a booth sitting across each other. This makes for better privacy and more attention payed to each other and not the surroundings. Since booths are against the wall and tables usually aren't. If it were me i would rather sit next to the girl on a romantic dinner since its easier to share a desert that way.

I personally never like booths, they just seem tacky to me. Even if you are on a romantic dinner I think it is better to sit across from each other, you can look into each other's eyes and you can still hold hands across the table. You are in public, you don't really want to do more than that, I would hope. And if it's a really romantic dinner wouldn't you be going to an upclass restaurant, would they necessarily have booths.

For a romantic dinner I would suggest a booth in the corner so you both can have some alone time and some privacy.
Do not select a table because you both will be out in the open with alot other people eating at tables and you both will feel crowded in.
Go for the booth

A booth! If you want romance, sit across from each other so you can really talk and look at eacher. If you plan on doing stuff you might could get arrested for then sit alongside each other.

It really depends, if your really with the guy then a booth and sit alongside. But if you both are just getting to know each other than better off at a table and sitting across.
Good luck and HAVE-FUN!!!!!!!!

I like sitting across in booths... somewhat more private.
Sitting alongside each other - that can be a bit of a problem when you're eating, and you have to turn to be able to see the other person.

Most people would say a booth but I never like the booth. I feel it is too confining. I always opt for a table whether having a romantic dinner or not.

I prefer a booth because it is usually quieter and easy to talk. With a table, you have more customers and staff walking around you.
As for the along side or across, that's a tough one. Sitting next to each other makes it easier to snuggle. Sitting across makes it easier to make eye contact and hold a conversation while holding hands. I guess I'll give a slight edge to sitting across.

A booth is more romantic, you can sit close to each other instead of across from each other
