God bless you, darlin' I don't see how you made it through that. I go once a month and happily plop down my $50 to have it done for me. I've tried it myself and I even let my BF have a go at it once, all I can say is: P A I N. They really know what they're doing a the salon and they do it a lot better. It still hurts, sure, but at least it's not god-why-me hurts, and there's not wax everywhere when you're done.

Get a trusted friend to assist you. It hurts less when the skin is pulled taunt & as soon as the strip is pulled off, a hand is quickly placed over the skinless place. This calms the pain quickly. I do waxing as part of my job and these tips help to make it as painless as possible. You can also take an advil or aleve before- not asprin because it can cause you to bleed more.
You need extra hands to help you or just get used to the pain! Help will also make less of a mess. A quick way to clean up is goo gone or something with orange oil.
Good luck!

It stings a little but a pro is much better and quicker than DIY. If you can afford it, definitely go with a pro, but if you must DIY, soak in warm water for about 10 minutes first, pat the area dry well (do not rub!) and do smaller areas at a time.

i suggest nair wax strips. you can cut them to whatever size you want. it eliminates all the mess. all you have to do is warm it up a little bit with your hands, then pull it apart, place it on your skin, and pull it off. now, that you've already put yourself thru the pain the first time, it will be much less painful from now on (as long as you do it on a regular basis). and, they only cost around 6 bucks for 15 strips or so (7 bikini waxes).

Personally I have done both...
I would say to get it professionally waxed. They can get more hair at one time... And also it is cleaner... The lady I went to would check for ingrown hairs and would put this solution on it after to calm the skin down...
Just get it done professionally...

Get it done professionally...it's not the most painless experience but you'll survive. One little tidbit of advice - pop an advil about an hour before your scheduled appointment.

Have it done by a professional, it is quicker and for that alone it hurts less. This way it will last longer also. Good luck.
