I'd like to install a sub in my car myself, is there a plug or something on the back of my stereo that I could hook into and run the cable myself??

Thanks for the input, I guess basically my question is asking IF I have those plugs in the back of my stereo, not how I would install them. The stereo on the 06 Civic is not "changeable", its integrated into the console. So, if anyone has dealt with this year Civic and knows if those plugs are present, please let me know!!!

Here is how you can tell whether or not your stereo head unit will work. Pull it out, and look at the back of it. If it has RCA jacks on it, then plug a RCA cable into it, and run it to your trunk along with the power antenna wire (usually blue). Also run a power wire from your battery. All of those wires hook up to your sub amp, and the sub amp then wires to the sub. And that's basically how you do it.

However, if the head unit does not have RCA's in the back, you need to buy a new one. I would suggest a Pioneer or Bose or something. I spent $150 on a Pioneer, and it works wonderfully.

it depends most cars u have to buy a new headunit (cd player) for your car. You need the output audio hookups...then u just run your audio wires from thoughs to your amp and your remote wire from your sterio (normally the blue wire) to your amp. The remote wire turns the power on and off when u turn your car on and off. Then run the battery wire through the fire wall and to your amp... hook up the speaker wires into your sub and then your good to go...just figure out how to get your head unit out and look on the back to see if u have the red and white audio hook ups...if not go buy a new headunit and u can install it yourself.
