can you take baby hamsters away from their moms a t 18 days old

I have had occasions when I have had to "pull" baby hamsters at 7 days for one reason or another and had them survive. Soft foods (I had a commercial hamster kibble that looked much like dog food) and fruit and vegetables for water. You should be ok with yours at 18 days.

I do not recommend taking them away from their mother at only 18 days. My babies are 5 weeks old today and are still with their mother. I leave them with their mother until they are about 6 weeks so they will be able to grow and develop properly from theirs mothers milk. Many people say to separate them according to gender at 3-4 weeks because they may mate. But I haven't known a baby to mate until about 8 weeks. Basically, they will almost indefinitely die if they are removed now, not a good idea.

Take it from someone who had over 100 hamsters within 6 months, it is ok only if they are eating and drinking on their own. Also slowly take them away if they are attached to their mom.

you can, but they're not weened from their mother yet, i'm pretty sure it was 21 days to seperate them, because the boy and girl hamsters will start mating, but you might want to look that up on a hamster information web site.

i recommend 21 days but 18 wouldn't be that much off.
18 should be fine.

if the babys can drink and eat on their own it will be fine...
i love hamsters!!!

Well you can butit might not be right because they dont want to be away from each other yet! so i think a month is better!
