ill only give a credit card when i want to buy something

You don't need to givr it to get a user ID and Password, with which you can browse and bid-

Paypal- the service which you would give your credit card info to- is not mandatory- but it is preferred by most sellers, quicker then checks and offers some insurance.

You don't need a credit card to buy something on e-bay or to join e-bay. You can log on and when you want to buy, pay by check (most people use paypal).

Another option I tell people, is that you can get a credit card with a limit on it - like $50 so there's not an issue. I've never had problems with buying things with a credit card.

ebay doesnt ask for a credit card. Paypal does

you can get paypal without a credit card, login and goto add funding i think it is.

It should have an option to add a back account to fund your paypal account
