his character says he is from rhodesia(zimbabwe) rather than south africa but i do not know exactly what that local accent sounds like
any help?

i know quite a few African people, and i personally think he does a brilliant African accent.

I've heard a few people mock it but from my experience working with a lot of South Africans and a couple from Zimbabwe, he does a lot better than I would've expected. It was convincing.
The movie's great and there's a good special on VH-1 on Bling about rappers going to Sierra Leone to learn more about Blood Diamonds.

I worked with a guy from Zimbabwe for several years and Leo got it spot on.

Yes my cousins have lived there for 30 years in zimbabwe and leo is brilliant.

Yes, his got the accent right pretty well, and the slang too, he's the first actor i've heard that actually got it right i might add.
