Whenever I shave my underarms, they are bumpy and red afterwards, weather I use soap or shaving cream...I use a razor with 3 or 4 blades like the venus...I just want smooth skin there but it never happens!

(1) Wash ALL deoderant off before shaving
(2) Wash with warm water and soap before shaving, it helps to soften the hairs
(3) shave less often (i shave about every 2 days because im a swimmer)

Try getting a clear shaving cream... Noxema makes one, and it's soooo much easier to see what you're doing.
Also try using a one bladed razor. One reason you might be getting the bumps is because the first blade cuts your hair and the rest cut your skin.

Your skin must be very sensitive there...

Try using an electric hair trimmer.

Also, Dust your armpits with a talc free powder, or maybe a little cornstarch. Both of these work great on a baby's bottom to prevent diaper rashes.

I had the same problem, until I stopped shaving. If you can afford it (and take the pain) get them waxed at a salon. Or you can try at home waxing. I've also used Veet for sensitive skin, without getting a rash.

ok, i use venus the disposable kind, and i shave my armpits in the shower... that way the skin, and hair is soft and warm when I shave it.. is this what you do?

maybe your allergic to your shaving cream.. if thas possible.. shave in both directions..

if all fails, brace yourself and get them babys waxed.

omg...me too..and to make things worse, i have a little mole on the inside of my arm, and I'm always afraid I'll hit it...
But I just try using soap, and I use dove deodorant, which really smooths the skin underneath arms.

I'd suggest a cream depilatory like Nair. Make sure your underarm area isn't inflamed or irritated before you try it.

i find that it is smoother when you shave from all directions; like, top to bottom, bottom to top, and side to side. it takes a bit longer, but that way it gets the hair growing in all directions!! and afterwards, put on conditioning deoderant!
