Rush. Most anything by them is amazing: 'Limelight', '2112' (That whole album is sweet), and 'The Spirit of Radio'.
I heavily endorse the use of Boston, such as 'Smokin' and 'Peace of Mind', but I guess some could consider it to be a bit soft.
Dire Straits is some good stuff ('Sultans of Swing'), and I can't say no to Steppenwolf ('Magic Carpet Ride' and 'Born to be Wild') or Queen ('Bohemian Rhapsody'). Oh, I can't forget The Cars ('Hello Again', 'Best Friend's Girl', and 'Just What I Needed').
