I take Yasmin birth control pills, and this month instead of allowing a week's time at the end of the pack to get my period, I just went straight to the next pack.
I think I remember my doctor saying it was ok to do if I didn't want my period once in awhile, but I'm not certain? Can anyone give me a good answer?

Perfectly safe. It is not a real period you are having anyway.

There is no real harm in it, they also have a birth control pill that allows you to go for 3 months without your period called Seasonale. I have skipped a period when i knew i would get in during a vacation. But I wouldnt keep doing it. I have yet to receive an answer as to what happens to the blood being in there too long.

I used to do that all the time for endometriosis. It's fine for now. It may cause your periods to be a little spastic later on (sorry it's the best way I can describe it) if you do it all the time, but every once in awhile it's fine. If you have any concerns though, just call your doctor though to make sure.

I did that one week back in Aug '06 and it took FOREVER to get back on track with my period and pills.

Expect to not be regular for a while. Breakthrough bleeding most likely will occur.

I wouldn't try this again no matter how tempted I was.

That's perfectly fine. I wouldn't do it every month though as it is good for the body to shed it's lining.

Apparently there is no reason why you cant do this from time to time. A friend of mine was told the same thing by her Dr.
