I may sound stupid but i'm looking on www.forever21.com and there are skinny jeans that are size 27 and i don't know what that means. is that the size around the hips or waist or something like that?

27 is in inches...like how guys have their jeans..for example...34x32....that means the waist is 34 and the inseam(crotch to feet) is 32 inches....some girl stores do that bc its easier..which it is...27 is small, im a 32...not that u wanted to know, lol...but yea its inches and its not the 27 obese size, lololol...hope this helps..oh and 32 is not a size 14..its a 12(for the 1st person who responded to this question)!!!

it s the equivalent to a size 5
size 24 = size 0
size 25 = size 1 (or sometimes 1/2)
size 26 = size 3 (or sometimes 3/4)
size 27 = size 5 (or sometimes 5/6)

Okay...I wear a size 7 in jeans.
Some brands measure in waist size. I would wear a Size 28.
So if 7=28
7 would probably = 27

It's the waist size. I know 32 is a size 14, so just count backwards.

you are very small. I am a 14 at jcrew and in some of their styles that's a 33. it is your waist measurement. Not where you wear your pants, but your natural waist, the smallest part of your waist. forever 21 should have a size chart available on their website.
