Uhh, techies who know about Mac's and AOL/AIM??

Question

My friend has a Mac, w/ aim downloaded onto it, and she wants to know how to make her own "Personality" or the equivalent of "buddy Info" for windows. ANy help is appreciated! I've already visited the message boards, as well as the FAQ page, and nothing! Thnx!

If your friend has a Macintosh and using the Mac OS X, I wouldn't even mess with the Macintosh version of AIM. It's so much easier and user-friendly to simply use iChat.

The Mac program, iChat uses AIM as well as Mac.com, and Jabber. Simply go into iChat > Preferences... menu command. The Window that comes up has your accounts for AOL/AIM. This is mostly the connection information.

Under the Buddies > Change My Profile... menu command you can change your personal profile, typing information about yourself. There's also a Buddies > Change My Picture... menu command where you can change your picture. Once you do that, your picture will show up on AIM.

Probably, this, or a similar menu commands will work on the AOL/AIM software for the Mac. Best of luck.

have she down load the instant messager yet from the aol home page ? where they do have some stuffs that you can get for youre computer . well maybe can cause problem if her computer isnt proper pluging in with right places or she already down load it before and for got about that she had did . or she wants to get a new buddies list messager instead . tell her to start over her computer and come back online . well first thing if you needed some info. about the aol and aims you should go to the front of the home page and look up on youre right side above on the screen and you see the word says help ! then click on it then you wait til you see a box window that has some branches of questions on the box . if there arent anything about how to fix the messenger . then i will just drag down to the buttom of the page and you see a small list of words that says contact us or contact by email . or by useing the phone . then there you can get alot of helps from them more better and easy way . they can sent you guys emails messages back to you .

I don't believe that you can do that on AIM for Mac. But if it is a newer Mac with OS X iChat is a program that comes with the mac and will probably allows you to do something like that.
