dr. gene scott the late night preacher who died a few years ago married a young lady that replaced him as preacher of his congregation. her name is melissa scott, and I heard that she used to be involved in the adult film industry in the mid 90's. Is this true? And to what extent was her relationship in this industry?

It's true, see the pictures when you google search under her name and Barbi Bridges. She and her first husband Paul Pastore founded Barbi Bridges Entertainment where she was an adult model and actress. They produced many adult movies you can find on their website. After she hooked up with Gene Scott, the Pastores divorced. From the public records in L.A. California Superior Court, she was named in a suit from one of BBE creditors who made cartons for the boxing and selling of BBE videos. Also the divorce records show Melissa swearing that she put in $40,000 to BBE and wanted it back and that part of their divorce settlement was to shelve her hard core feature "Picture Perfect Seduction" by Vivid Productions. Actually I read the same thing you did. Dr. Scott was really a controversial piece of work and his young, young bride did not appear without an interesting history. Wish I knew more to help you, but I was intrigued with Dr. Scott and fascinated when I watched his show and heard her sing. I did not believe in his preaching, but I couldn't look away when he was on television either!

I had a very close pixel by pixel look at the B.B. images talked about here. They were clearly Photoshopped. The pixels around the mouth and eyes show evidence of alteration, even to where there are borders around the lips in one or two of the pictures where another set of lips still show through. I don't know Melissa's past history, but the Bridges thing is unproven to me.
Now, I don't have the cash to spare hunting down for-fee court records, but having perused http://talkaboutpeople.com/group/alt.fan.gene-scott/ I found it chock full of useless gossip, hate rants and vitriol-filled twits who have no clue what Gene or Melissa Scott are really about. Therefore I see no reason to consider anything anyone says that comes through that site as valid. Also, I have found, after exhaustive searches of the Internet, no original source to verify anything here without having to buy a search, which I'm not about to waste money on with the trail already cold.
The main thing I seem to be finding is that it has somehow become acceptable to a certain chorus of Internetters to slander, ridicule, and defame a public figure on the flimsiest of information, usually by repeating what they read on some discussion group where almost no one takes care to verify sources or even weigh the information for balance and fairness, and giving way to the basest of prejudices, with total disregard for the feelings of people who might be genuinely interested in the truth or in the person talked about.
Lastly, followers of Gene and Melissa Scott who have actually listened to their teaching know that neither one has ever preached their own perfection, but both have said "I am chiefest of sinners." Melissa has said to her congregation, "Whatever you have heard about me, whatever you think I am, I'm worse!" So those who busy themselves digging up or inventing dirt to throw on her are wasting their time.
The only people they will ever drive away from Melissa or Gene Scott will be those who can't set themselves free from traditions that man invented about how a preacher or a man of God is supposed to behave. Moses was a murderer. Isaiah walked around naked prophesying for three years. Hosea married a prostitute at God's command. Noah got drunk and naked, and cursed his second son for telling his brothers. Jeremiah was full of fury most of the time. Abraham married his half sister and lied to two kings about her. Jacob practiced polygamy and had two concubines on the side. David slept with another man's wife and had her husband killed in battle. Solomon kept a thousand women in his harem and the Bible still kept his greatest erotic song and two books of wisdom from him. Is there anything that the Scotts could have done to top these things? I say get off your judgmental hypocritical high horses and mind your own business!!!
