I think the existence of a national punk day would negate the value of punk's intended purpose - to break with the traditional way of doing things (like having national holidays). It would make punk that much more mainstream, and that much less punk.

National Edge Day, or simply Edge Day, is an unofficial holiday recognized by members of the straight edge subculture on October 17.

Which is pretty close to punk rock, anyway.
