Nothing- no moisture present in either-- they will become more fragile while frozen as plastics are more brittle- but that is it-- all them hot songs you burn will remain Hot -- just let the CD's get back to room temp before loading them into your player

In most cases nothing will happen.
However, it really depends upon the type of CD or DVD.
Usually most CDs or DVDs that are burned at home will get ruined when they are frozen.
If you want to put it in the freezer to get rid of information, I wouldn't count on it.
If you were trying to get rid of the data on it, you should probably try microvaving it for 3 seconds.
Please note that if you microvave it it could easily start to melt or ruin your microvave.

Hi. If the media is original (raised polycarbonate) , nothing. If the media contains a dye (CD-R or DVD+R, for example) the dye can be ruined.

why would you want to? if you do, nothing will happen. however, before you play it, thaw it, that way the heat from the DVD player doesn't create condensation. if that happens you will wish you hadn't of played a joke after all.

KABOOM- DVD player dies.

It will probably become more brittle than it presently is; I suspect if you dipped it in something like liquid nitrogen, it would shatter like glass!
