There is this girl at my school who I'm kinda friends with. I think she has a real problem. Kids at my school like play childish mind games with her like saying for example lets pretend her name is suzy they will say "Suzy likes Bob" and she goes beat red and punches them and so on, she gets really mad and its not normal. Now shes 13 and I definately think shes overreacting. I know she has mager mental and emotional problems. I tell her that they only say that to watch her reaction but she continues to punch them ect. Its really embassing! She acts half her age and I'm really worried for her! What should I tell her, should I tell a school counselor?

She just sounds immature for her age...hasn't caught up yet with the others and it is cruel of them to taunt her. The way she is acting is the way a younger child would react....talking about boys still embarrasses her and she doesn't know how to correctly answer them back.

If it becomes a usual thing it might be good to tell someone like a counselor because they are supposed to be watching out for this kind of thing....too much taunting can create major problems in other ways.

Few years back my daughter was bullied by someone like that. When whe lived in the country she would try to run her over on dirt roads! No joke! We both went to the school and made reports and even to the Courthouse! Luckilly, when they finally had it out at school I had everything documented. Judge threw it out! Beware! You are best to seperate yourself and friends from disturbed people. My daughter was loving and caring and truly tried to help her with her anger. Think about that!

Sounds like she must have a lot on her mind... maybe she has had a situation where ppl kept saying that and she didn't care, so they took it further and really hurt her. Try talking to her and telling her how you feel. Tell her that she needs to chill a bit down and it doesn't matter if they pick on her, she should tell a teacher and not fight.

Your friend probably is embarrased. And you are right, the other kids are doing it to see her reaction. As difficult as it may be, if she could ignore them, it would most likely stop. They would not get a reaction so they would get bored and leave her alone. Perhaps you could explain this to her. Then it is up to her as to how she responds. It sounds like you really care about your friend. She is lucky to have a friend like you. Good Luck!
