one of my best mates had a sexual relationship with a girl who he says is not related to him. we all argue she is. He meet her at A FAMILY PARTY and the tie between them is his grad-dad's new partners step daughters kid. Is that technical his cousin or some other kind of family cousin - or should we just stop having a go at him for it. Just for the record they have now split up and we have decided that YAHOO ANSWERS will know the answer.
Thank you.

Nothing wrong until she is pregnant with a genetically sick kid.

We are all blood related at some point to each other so why make a big issue out of it? That didnt in the old days before cars when you could not marry further than you could walk.

They have a family connection but not a direct blood one so no probs.

They are not 'Blood Related,' so that would seem to be fine. However, there was something on TV a couple of nights back where they stated that the law had been changed recently and brought in step-siblings, and step parents and others I didn't catch.

So, medically is one thing, others are other things, but then, if they are of legal age, then it really isn't any of your concern, or that of others either.

Sash.

They are in no way related that sleepgin with ehr shoudl eb an issue. Even legally they are only related through what sounds liek one marriage and one potential marriage. Either that or I'm just thoroughly confused.

Related by marriage twice removed.

Not wrong in the least, though potentially a bit weird. If they've split up straight away, though, it sounds like he just wanted to know what it would be like to sleep with 'family'.

Wow I think I had to read that about 10 times before I think it made sense...

If I made the right sense of it...there is no bloodline shared, therefore they aren't related and can have all the sex they want!!!

Any ties to immediate family members are in-laws, no if, ands, or buts about it. With what you just stated she would probably fall in between cousin status. But don't chew at him to hard because they are not blood so therefore, its possible to date..............would just be weird, especially if their family memebers get married.

There is no way they are related to each other. If the attraction was there, it is no-ones concern. They have not broken any rules.
