Seal has distinctive scars under his eyes, left by a skin ailment called discoid lupus (which makes the immune system hyperactive and attacks normal tissue) when he was young.

Contrary to popular belief his scars are from Lupus, a disease he had as a child. He wasn't involved in a shooting or anything like that.

a disease and his skin was rottening off his face. I read it in a magazine once, but I don't remember the name.
