Congratulations! I gave my son a sponge bath about three days after we left the hospital. I then continued giving him a sponge bath every other day. It's important for your daughter to be clean so I say sponge bathe her until her umbilical cord falls off then bathe her in an infant bath every other day. Best of Luck!

It is not good to bath a newborn on a daily basis. I remeber we bathed our child every other day using a cloth or sponge. It is not a good idea to really give them a bath until the umbilical cod falls off and the wound has healed.

Babies should be bathed about once a week. If bathed too often, their skin is likely to get dry and flaky. It is best to use gentle, non-perfumed soaps and shampoos. You should sponge-bathe her until the umbilical cord falls off.

Babies need to bathed, every day with warm water and mild soap, only if they weigh more than 3 kg.
If Weight is less than 3 Kg A sponge bath is better.
one more point
In cold weather, the bath must be Quick , and baby
be be nicely wrapped in proper clothing.soon after.
Use of Milk cream, besan, and coconut is best avoided.
Plain olive oil may be OK

I was told after the baby's umbilical cord fall off you can bathe her in the baby tub and not everyday, I was told every 2 to 3 days because you don't want to dry out her skin. when they get bigger then you can give them a bath more often.

You shouldn't immerse her until her belly button scab has fallen off. Once that happens you can give her a real bath; I used the bathroom sink lined with a towel always. I don't bath infants daily; every other day is sufficient. The pediatrician recommends against bathing babies daily as their skin is so dry.

I had to bathe my 2 month previous (now 7 months) on a daily basis. I nonetheless do. He has reflux and vomits throughout himself a number of situations each and daily. If i did no longer bathe him each and daily he could stink!! it is not suitable, yet there is no longer something incorrect with it. in simple terms ensure you're utilising an fairly gentle cleansing soap - like Aveeno or California teenagers (each and all of the toddler soaps Huggies, Johnson&Johnson are extraordinarily no longer that gentle) and make advantageous that's heady heady scent unfastened. each and daily exposure to the chemical compounds could reason inflammation to the exterior.

As often as you like especially if your baby likes it. Just remember you don't necessarily need to use soap every time but a nice bath followed by a rub down using oil or cream is very soothing for babies.

i think you only have to do it every 2nd day but i have nearly done it every day and my bub is 2 weeks old too. i do it when he wakes too soon before his next feed and find it easier in the mornings when i am more awake.
You do not have to wait for the cord to fall off - the hospital laughed at me when i told them that i had read that on answers - they are the ones that showed me how to bath him
good luck and congrats
