Aquarius and Pisces
When Aquarius and Pisces come together, it's a case of compassion and creation. These partners are idealistic both individually and together. Pisces flows with their dream-like surroundings, and Aquarius constantly is envisioning new inventions and processes. This relationship fights for truth and progressive ideas, and both partners are always looking for adventure and solutions. They both get a lot out of introspection. Aquarius can often be quick to judge those who don't share their vision, and Pisces is often overly compassionate, even for those who are not worthy.
Aquarius and Pisces make very good friends as well as lovers. Problems are rare, but sometimes Aquarius can be too intellectual and aloof for Pisces, and Pisces may at times be too self-sacrificing and gullible for the Aquarian taste. Sometimes different reactions to a situation may put them at odds; Aquarius is quick to dismiss those that don't agree with their world vision, and Pisces is too quick to take on everyone's issues. On some occasion the pair will have conflicts, but these partners can forgive and forget easily. Aquarius is ruled by the Planets Uranus and Saturn and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. Uranus focuses on iconoclastic ideas and innovative practices. Saturn gives this relationship the gumption to act on these ideas and the ability to organize the details that will animate them. Jupiter is about philosophy, teaching, and understanding, and Neptune focuses on spirituality, so Pisces likes to truly understand new and exciting things. Whenever Aquarius comes up with a new idea -- as they so often do -- Pisces is eager to understand from an intuitive level. This duo working together creates a complementary relationship affluent in intellectual and emotional resources.
Aquarius is an Air Sign and Pisces is a Water Sign. This partnership is motivated by thought and feeling, respectively. There is always a lot going on, and this tends to be a very flexible and progressive relationship. When it's good it's very good, but when it's bad, communication is abysmal. Pisces likes to be where Aquarius' action and intellect stirs, and Aquarius can learn social tolerance and warmth from the demure Pisces. This team works well together. Although they may disagree their differences of opinion don't last long. Conflicts may arise because of Pisces' need for emotional support and tenderness, and Aquarius' preference for ideas rather than romance.
Aquarius is a Fixed Sign and Pisces is a Mutable Sign. Aquarius is the initiator of new projects and ideas, and Pisces will accept these ideas as long as they have an assigned role in making the project come to life. When these partners work together, they won't argue over who gets to take the credit for their achievements. Both Signs are better at starting things than ending them; if Aquarius gets bored with a project, Pisces will soon follow the example and move on.
The best aspect of an Aquarius-Pisces relationship is their mutual interest in cultivating knowledge and accepting modern and cosmopolitan ideas. They are well matched in their enthusiasm, energy, and desire for a sincere relationship. Their common interests and reciprocal personalities makes theirs a compatible relationship

This match is a very sweet romance that is full of compassion and creativity. Aquarius and Pisces are both filled with ideas and Aquarius is excellent at putting ideas into motion! Pisces' dreamy way of looking at life gives Aquarius a lot to work with. Together, they can make dreams become reality. This relationship is built on not just attraction, but a strong friendship as well. They both have a lot in common and love learning from the other.

Generally speaking Pisces and Aquarius are not a good combination. Astrologically the strongest matches for any star sign 6,8 and 10 months apart from your own sign, with those 4 months after often being a good possibilty. Admittedly this is not 100% accurate, nor should you base your decisions on it, but it is a handy guide.
One last thing... There are no right or wrong decisions. There is only cause and effect, every choice we make is a cause and has a corresponding effect. Trust in your own instincts as to what is the 'best' course of action.

DUDE i'm a pices man and my girlfriend is an aquarius, and the situation is EXACTLY the same. She was thinking i'd make a better friend then a boyfriend, and that scared me, because i love her alot and she's got alot of problems and i think i could help her through them. i know she loves me too, she's been through alot of trauma in her life that i'm afraid i cannot empathize with.
She's also told me that i care too much about her and she's afraid its more "obsession" but noone she's been with before cared about her like i do, and i think she's afraid of that. She's never had connections with anyone but promiscuous (for lack of better word) sex. However, she never really enjoyed it, and i was the first person to ever give her an orgasm, and i believe it has alot to do with the emotional connection between the two people.
for you, pretty much thinking from your bf's point of view:
He just cares too much about you, you need time to yourselves, and figure out "yourselves" thats the most important step to undrstanding others. Communication is the next step, and there can be no communication if there is no truth. you both must be completely truthful in your word. Its true, the truth does often hurt, but it's better than living in ignorant blissful life that will one day come crashing down much more horribly than if you can clarify the situation now.
From my similar simultaneous experince, space and thought are your best bets. I havent seen my girl in 3 days and i miss her so bad and i wan't to see her by any means, but i know she thinks i've been smothering her, so i will maintain my self control for the benefit of the relationship, no matter how painful it is at the time.
All this will come to pass, keep a positive outlook on the future, focus your physical attention on the now. have no regret, sorrow anger or grudges, they are wasted and unnecessary emotions, and will only cause more strife.
Follow your heart (spirit) and all will be yours
I wish you the best outcome, and remember that everything happens for a reason...

-_- i'm a pisces and we are not babies however we are emotional and sensitive and often go into out own dreamlike worlds which might be how your pisces man is like- he will know show his feeling and will adapt to what you want to say and as an aquarius the pisces man will love you on an intellectual so it'll be perfect as you'll get together halfway on a plane of creativity and logic- talk to him, comfort him and let him know that you are there... only then he will trust you I'm a pisces woman ;)

I have never seen an aquarius -pisces relationship work out, aquarius isnt very emotional and pisces is very sensitive, and as you noticed pisces are very demanding when it comes to relationships, thier very clingy, and you being an aquarius need freedom, so I think you decision to end it is the correct one

It's supposed to work. I know an Aquarian, she likes Pisces. The two signs seem to be the only signs in the zodiac who sit next to each other that actually get along (ex. Aries and Taurus isn't a good match, nor is Leo and Virgo, etc).

Why not make your own choices. Why depend on "the stars" to determine your fate? You are responsible for the choices you make in life not the stars, and not when you were born. If you love him and he loves you then discuss what's going on in your relationship and try to work through the problems. Unfortunately we live in a disposable society...and it has got to the point where we even see people as disposable.
I may be wrong, but it almost sounds like your trying to use "incompatable signs" as an excuse.

Um.. don't listen to zodiac signs.. they're fake. If thats how your relationship is going I wouldn't be blaming it on horoscope signs. Sorry.
