I'm writing about the flood in gilgamesh and the flood genesis

This sounds like a very interesting topic.

To do this, you could compare the begginnigs of the floods. Noah knew about his flood from God. Was there any prepartions for the flood in Gilgamesh? Also, Noah had divine intervention from God. Wasn't Gilgamesh 2/3s god? In fact, I remember that many scholars site the source of the Gilgamesh epic from the Genesis story.

Gilgamesh has a much more mystical tone to the story. It reads like a story from Ancient Egypt or Rome or Greece. However, the style of the Genisis flood is distinctivly different. It does not talk about a lot of gods attempting to influence the world. There is no "family tree" of gods, that mixes with humans. Even, at times, mating with them. That seems to be an interesting contrast.
