This one I am not real sure of, I know that I can convert it quickly to an Mpeg, but I think that it is Mpeg2. Not Mpeg4. The program that I used was Direct Show Dump Utility. You can give it a try by going to the link below. At the end of the page is a screen shot. Good Luck.
I also figured out how to send video from the pc back to tivo. Just put an Mpeg video in the Tivo Folder on the pc, and then select the Now Playing List on the tivo, and then Select your pc. It is that easy!

Try using WinAVI converter. Not sure though if it'll solve the problem.
