The area you speak of where demos are not allowed, is evidence W.M.D's, (weapons of mass distraction) it lends support to the P.M's claims that the U.K is under threat from terrorists, many people think that the government would not do this if there were not a threat, it also makes it a lot easier for Tony to do as he pleases, if people are not allowed to get close enough with their complaints to get in the media spotlight. The real threat to to the U.K is from people like Tony, who want the power to lock people up without a reason. Who dictatorially march their country, (our country which they think is theirs) off to war, even though the people don't want it & the U.N did not sanction it. There those who really would like the U.K to be a police state & are doing all they can to achieve it, we can stop this happening by voting for a better government. Vote for the people you really believe could make things better than they are now, that is a British revolution, or could be.

I say it is the beginning of things to come. Over here in America, we can be put in jail for holding protests unless we get a "permit". Of course these permits to assemble are rarely handed out. From what I have read, London also has a very extensive video surveillance system. I could perhaps understand a few cameras for traffic monitoring, but having a surveillance camera EVERYWHERE is going too far.

The proponents always have the argument over such things that usually goes like this: "If you didn't have anything to hide, then it wouldn't bother you." This logic is of course, rubbish. I dont have anything to hide...I just don't want the governments (America and England) to collapse like all other overly large governments have done in past history.

No police state is far too strong an expression. It's bad enough without exaggerating things.

Stalins Russia was a police state. We aint that bad.
