There is a link between the warming of the oceans and weather - it affects different parts of the world differently. For example, El Nino conditions (which is a warming of the Pacific) causes droughts in the Western Pacific and storms in the Eastern Pacific; El Nina (Atlantic warming) causes more Atlantic storms on both sides of the ocean.
Putting the US aside for a moment, and goodness knows it has had more than its fair share of harsh winter storms (not just blizzards but also unseasonal severe thunderstorms in the lower Midwest and South), there has been some very freaky weather this year. While people in the south of France - the middle of the northern winter - were celebrating Christmas on the beach in their bikinis, people in southern Australia - the middle of the southern summer - bobsledding in up to 2 inches of snow. At least 2 inches of snow fell - and stayed for a week - on the plains of Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean in October - where the average temperature at that time of year is 75 degrees fahrenheit. It also snowed for the first time in the United Arab Emirates. Unprecedented rain during Kenya's dry season flooded the Masai Mara game reserve, trapping tourists for days. Tornados ripped through London in mid-December and a hurricane with windspeeds of up to 195km/hour (124mph) hit the UK in January. Many ski resorts across Europe as well as Asia were forced to cut back operations and cancel events due to a lack of seasonal snow and record high temperatures. The mercury in Prague on January 9th hit 13.8 degrees celsius (58 degrees fahrenheit), an all-time record.

Well, I'm not too sure myself, however, I did hear that global warming is the cause for our weird weather we're having. Global warming is a real issue that needs to be seriously dealt with. No matter what people say global warming is happening right now. And if we don't do anything about it soon, then it might be too late. (not to scare anyone, but that is the truth)

You can't blame any one freak storm or warm season on 'global warming'. Global warming actually a small change in temperature that has significant effects on climate and, more importantly, survival of many species.
The naysayers are getting fewer and farther between. The result of the conference of 2500+ scientists from 113 countries last month declared global warming 'unequivocal'. While years ago you could argue whether it was happening or not- there's nothing left to argue. It's here, it's real, the data is overwhelming, and anyone that doesn't 'believe' in it has their head in the sand.

Although there is a chance that global warming is real I seriously doubt it. Even though there are "scientists" who support the idea of global warming being caused by humans, there are more and more scientists each year that are against it. The scientists against it point out that mars is under going the same trends we are. The points to the sun that is causing it and not us. The earth in particular has been going through periods of global warming and cooling for the entiriety of its existience. Not only that but there are climatologists who will tell you that water makes a way bigger difference than CO2 as far as the climate is concerned. That and there have been volcanic eruptions that pollute more than mankind has throughout its history. Now with all that information think about how much impact we have really made to the earth. Yes it has gotten about a fraction of a degree warmer throughout the last couple of decades. I for one don't see mankind's involvement as a big factor in it.

Do NOT be misled by all the false media hype about "global warming"!
It's all a big scam to frighten the average, uneducated person into falling in line under trumped up scare tactics! In 1975, these same people were chanting "global cooling", and that we'd be frozen in ten to twenty years! There is NO way to predict global temperatures! Heck, they can't even predict the weather next week, let alone ten or twenty years from now!
Come on! This planet will survive exactly as god decides... not one second more or less - PERIOD!
So live life to it's fullest and let not your soul be troubled!
