I've recently purchased a new construction house. Lately, I've been noticing mold appearing on a few spots in the wood that is exposed in the basement. I do have a dehumidifier running constantly. What are other things can I do to remove and prevent further growth of the mold?

A dilution of 1 part water and equal part of bleach (1 cup each or as much as needed) will kill the mold and prevent it from recurring. Use a disposable rag and sponge the mixture onto the areas and let dry. Do not get it on your clothes or hands so use protective wear. You need to find the source of moisture causing the mold to prevent any further damage though. A mold expert can locate the source if you feel unable or unqualified to try. They are not cheap!

I would use a mild bleach water solution in a garden sprayer, then get a sponge with the scrubber backside to it, also dampened with bleach water and scrub it off, I know that scotchbrite makes them and they are available at wal-mart or k-mart. Then let that get completely dry and hit it with hairspray, that should do it for quite a while....but look for a leak in the roof, or through the basement walls, because mold is almost for sure because of damp air.

The bleach and water mixtures works well,
try this add one part water , one part bleach and one part simple green from lowe's
of equal portions
get a spray bottle or garden sprayer and spray heavy let sit for 30 minutes and rinse, if you can hose it down great in not clean water and rag and brush, it should not come back
