Yes, you should consider giving it up to adoption. You are certainly not prepared to be a parent. There are many families just waiting to adopt babies and will be able to give your child a much better home life.

It all depends on the person. Some 19 yrs. olds are very immature and can't handle the responsibility, while others are emotionally and physically ready for it. I am 18 years old, a few days shy of being 19.....and I'm 34 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I wouldn't give this up for the world, my fiance and I are happier than ever. We know what it will be like to bring a child into this world, and we can support our little girl in every way possible. My pregnancy was not planned.....even though we wanted children in the future. But everything happens for a reason, you just have to take responsibility and step up to the plate and take things head on. So like I said, if someone is mature enough to handle and take on the responsibility then no..they aren't too young. If they aren't mature enough and can't handle it then yes they are.

I think it is, but it only really matters what you and the father think I guess. I'm 18 and I would never even consider having a child for at least another 5 years. Some 19 year olds are mature enough for a baby, some aren't. I know I'm definitely not, but you might be. When you have a child, you stop living for yourself and start living for your child though... It doesn't matter if you're tired and haven't eaten or showered yet... if your son or daughter needs changed you need to do that before you take care of yourself.

No. If you have a great relationship with the father and you two can afford a child, go for it.
I know a lot of 18-20 year old parents that are much better off than some 40 year olds. It's not about age, really, it's about how much you have acomplished in your life and what you're ready for.
When I say "It's not about age", I don't mean 14 year olds can go off and have kids. I'm saying if you're a fully functioning adult. Haha. Sorry. Had to clear that up.

I had my daughter when I was 17, my boyfriend and I got married before she was born and we both finished high school and have completed some college. Everything has turned out very well for us so I know it can be done, but it is very difficult starting out so young. I had to deal with the disappointment of my family but they were never very supportive of me to begin with, that hasn't changed. My husbands family has been very supportive though. My husband and I are now going on 8 years of marriage, have 3 beautiful kids and have never been on public assistance or followed so many of the stereotypes of young parents. We did have some very hard years but if you are determined you can make it work. You sound much more responsible than many young women who post on here. I wish you lots of luck, feel free to contact me if you want to talk.

Age doesn't come into it! Thats like asking if a 50 yr old is too old to have a baby!
I don't think you can ever be fully prepared for parenthood no matter what your age. It's a question of maturity. If it feels right do it!! If it doesnt feel right, consider your options.
Don't listen to these people who tell you that you're too young. If your mature enough to handle the responsiblility then your not not too young.

Do You think that at 19, you are ready to sacrifice your needs for that of your child's? More so, you have an unplanned pregnancy, which shows lack of responsibility, MAYBE you can care for an infant, but are you capable of preparing your child so that he/she will be a well-adjusted human being, capable of tackling life's challenges? The baby part is easy, tiring, but easy compared with the real task of parenting which is keeping your child cared for and safe, all the while teaching them to be a decent person and giving them responsibility. I'd advise you to talk to a trusted adult.

Yes, in my opinion i think that having a baby at 19 is young because a baby is a very big reasonablty.Even Though you may think you responsible. Just think for a moment your 19, whats the most reasonable thing you ever done? turn in your homework on time? well wake up and think about having a baby first.

19 yr. olds' babies are ALL unplanned, but anyways, you're old enough to have sex but not old enough to accept the responsibilities? There is abortions, but those bring consequences on their own. If you think you can live with the fact that you killed an unborn child for the rest of your life just because you weren't smart enough to use contraceptives, and every time you see a kid and start to wonder of all the possibilities that child had and you didn't give him a chance just because you were drunk and horny one day, then go ahead, kill a baby.

I think "too young" is a phrase to substitute a lot of things, such as "too irresponsible," "too poor," and "too immature." Age-wise, 19 is not too young, because it is considered as adulthood, and biologically, you are between the ages to make babies. I am 22 and I think I am too irresponsible and too poor to have a baby, even if it is planned. Too young? Nah. My body is biologically ready.
If this is you we are talking about, ask yourself if you can afford the baby. Are you ready for the responsibilities?

No. I have a friend who had a baby when she was 18 and she has turned out to be an excellent mother. It changed her life permanently, but she has never said that she was "ruined" because of the birth of her son. To her, he's a blessing in a very clever disguise. So you got knocked up. You're 19 years old, which is plenty old enough to take responsibility for your actions.
