there are lots of technology that has been superseded over the decades, but that doesn't mean to say it doesn't work anymore. its like beta format tapes, Philip's V 2000 and more recent music cassettes. in their time all of these gadgets worked and were the pioneers for todays technology

Yes, Color TV, records, color cameras, typewriters, toasters, blenders and other kitchen appliances. Dishwashers for example.
