How are the careers in Special Education and what's the maximum salary you'll get?

most of that depends on where you teach. I loved teaching special kids. It was great to see their eyes light up when they finally "got it". you won't get paid more for teaching sped. larger schools systems pay more than smaller ones. don't do it for the money or you'll regret it. you won't ever get paid enough. do it because you want to help kids and have the patience and lowered expectations to not go crazy doing it. (by lowered expectations, I mean they won't learn as much or as fast, but they will learn.) be prepared to do tons of paperwork. the government requires it. but it's great, I loved it and still do!
