A girl in my class. She keeps talking about how some of the things teacher is talking about in class, she learned it in high school or middle school. She keeps on talking about "ME ME ME", how she achieve and she is smart on whatever.

First of all, she was born in here. Went to Elementary school until high school. She learned from her mistakes.

And me, I started school from middle and I didn't even know how to speak English. I had this after school class for extra help. Now, I'm in college and I know most of the stuff but you don't see me talking about how I achieve in things.

But I don't want to be rude and say "Shut up".

Just ignore her. Give her a cold shoulder everytime she says something like that. Maybe she'll get the hint and talk about something else.

People who talk a lot are insecure about themselves, especially women who encounter the glass ceiling. Reassure her about her contributions. Then she could just be lonely and needs to connect. Tell her that you want to hear what the professor has to say. During break you could tell her that you just want to think and not be interrupted. You can think of a lot of nice ways to get the message through. Ignoring is always a good strategy.

Well obviously she is getting on your nerves. It seems that she's being a little self-centered and is putting herself on a high pedistool and making herslef seem "better." You should tell her that it's not nice to only talk about yourself and you should tell her that you are annoyed by "her" stories. Tell her you don't appreciate her bragging and just disassociate with her if you want. Call it quits if you need too and tell her to stop bothering you!

Why? Do you feel threatened and defensive. Just tell her she doesn't need to keep talking about it to be smart. If she's so smart, why does she keep mentioning it? Let her know it's annoying but don't be unusually mean (no need to be).

Just ignore her and tell her to be quiet sometimes so you can concentrate. And you can ask your teacher to let you sit somewhere far from her that will help............Its nice how you don't want to say shut up

Just ignore her, and don't let her get to you..be
more mature then her, she may be bragging because no one in her family gives her credit for
anything ! or she is just a big pain...either way..
just say" oh good for you and go about what your
