The withdrawl symptoms of cocaine are terrible, but giving up an addiction can be done and it takes alot of will power and a very good therapist. I hope your friend does decide to give up that potentially disasterous habit.

The question is does he want to stop his habit because if he does not the question is irrelevant. There is help out there and first stop is his GP who can refer him onto an addictions team who could help him Good luck x

If your friend wants to stop this addiction there is only himself that can do it. It doesnt matter how many people of family tell him he HAS to want to do it for himself, and the sooner he realises that and gets away from that rubbish the better his life will become. Good luck to him and I hope he can do it.

as much i would like to type yes, it really depends on two things: how long he or she has been using and how dedicated they are to quitting. even if the first question has a not-so-good answer(for awhile), the second is what really matters. if your friend is really determined to get his or her life back on track, there are many ways and helping places they can get all the help they need. but, the determination to quit has to come from your friend and you must only be a helping hand if they decide they REALLY want to quit.

No. He is lying if he says he can stop when he wants. Try an intervention... he needs help, you need to help him or you are almost just as responsible for his death if he dies... this is very serious, get him help.
