Hello. Does anybody have any commentary about Florida City, Florida they can share with me? We'll be staying there for two days and I would like to know what type of place it is (scale of 1-10; 1 being "don't even stop for gas" and 10 being "utopia on earth"). Any response will be great!!!

Florida City is a REALLY bad section of Miami, I would call it a 1.
I would not stay there! If I am not mistaken, one of the sets of Miami riots happened there. Bad area, stay away.
I grew up in FL and have been to Miami many times. I usually stayed in North Miami beach, or South Beach if you can afford it. If Money is an issue, stop by Denny;s or Shoney's on your way down there and get one of those hotel travel books they have free in the entrance. You can get pretty decent rooms for much better price that way. Just always ask the desk clerk if you can check the room before you check in and accept it, I have had pretty good luck that way. Clean is good, does not have to be deluxe, but clean and deluxe is even better :-) Good luck

Do you mean Florida City, the last city on the mainland before you get to the Florida Keys? If you do, I'd rate it at about a 2; there's nothing there but gas stations, an outlet mall, and fast-food. You're better off going to the Keys and staying in Islamorada at the Cheeca Lodge (if you can afford it.).

Florida City has improved since Huricane Andrew. I lived in Homestead for over 27 years. At one time Florida Coty was avoided At all cost. Now it has outlet malls. It actually recovered and improved. Homestead however, is a different sad story.

I been Florida I think great place to go.There is bad things to.like bad weather.It gets hot and sticky.
