Sunshine it was the episode where these killers held Doc hostage to save their brother, and Festus and Matt were trying to get Doc out. Festus got away and jumped on the killers so they could not kill Doc, and Festus was shot and was in real bad condition. It was so hard on Doc to operate on Festus, there was a good chance Festus would die. It was the best acting by Doc and Festus so emotional. And when Festus woke up, and Doc bent near him, and asked can you see me, at 1st Festus says his head is all swimmy, but then he looks at Doc and says yes and your just as ugly as you always were you old skutter. Then Matt walks in and ask Doc did he see you, and Doc with tears in his eyes says yes, he described me to a T! That is my favorite episode, and it always brings tears to my eyes! What great acting by all!!!!!

I believe it was the one where those farm people adopted the set of triplets and they already had like 12 kids and at the end Miss Kitty said "some ppl just have an unlimited capacity for love". It was very touching because none of the town ppl would adopt them because they were the sons of a gunfighter. good luck.

I don't know the name of the episode, but I'll never forget the day I had surgery for a deviated septum -- after the surgery my wife brought me home and I was still feeling the effects of the anaesthesia (you know there is cocaine in that?). I sat down and turned on the TV -- Gunsmoke was on. I just remember being totally into it.

I believe I liked the "First Night" Christmas episode. Touching.
