I have a topic in mind on which i'd like to build a forum, could anybody give me any idea as to where to start? ie. where best to register for a domain name, where to find a good template for a forum etc. Thanks a lot!

You can really find anywhere to register a domain name. Godaddy.com isn't a bad place to start. If you're familiar with programming, particularly in php, then you try using phpbb (PHP bulletin board) found here http://www.phpbb.com/. It's a prefab forum sites that very easily customizable. Enjoy!!

Again, Simple Machines at
http://www.simplemachines.org

I use Host Gator
http://www.hostgator.com

They have Fantastico (alot of hosts do now so check)
You can install Simple Machines with one click using
Fantastico.

For a forum that's 3rd party hosted go with
Network 54

The easy way is to use an opensource solution.

Snitz forums is a good one.

I would say go with MyBB it is a free software for forums.

Then go to the MyBB themes repository and download the existing themes or create one for yourself.
