Michael Shawn Hickenbottom (born July 22, 1965) is an American professional wrestler, better known by the ring name Shawn Michaels. He is currently performing on the RAW brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) where he is one-half of D-Generation X, along with his real life best friend Triple H. He is also one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with John Cena.

Michaels is one of the longest tenured performers in World Wrestling Entertainment; having worked in various positions for the company since 1987.
Born to a military family on an air base in Chandler, Arizona, Michaels spent a brief part of his early years in Reading, Berkshire, England, but mainly grew up in San Antonio, Texas. In San Antonio, he attended Randolph High School on Randolph Air Force Base.

Trained by Mexican professional wrestler Jose Lothario, Michaels debuted in 1984, working with Mid-South Wrestling and later Texas All-Star Wrestling promotion, where he and Paul Diamond were awarded the TAW Tag Team Championship by Chavo Guerrero, Sr..

Michaels also wrestled for Central States Championship Wrestling. There, he and tag team partner Marty Jannetty defeated The Batten Twins for the Central States Tag Team Championship, later losing it back to the Battens. Michaels also made several appearances in the Dallas, Texas-based World Class Championship Wrestling throughout 1985.
Michaels made his national-level debut in 1986 in the American Wrestling Association (AWA), once again teaming with Jannetty. The pair were billed as "The Midnight Rockers" and won the AWA World Tag Team Championship twice. They also appeared in the Mid-South on loan at this point. In a raid of AWA talent in 1987, The Rockers were signed by a competing promotion: the World Wrestling Federation. However, they were fired two weeks later for "partying too hard" (a misunderstanding, according to Michaels' autobiography). They returned to the AWA, but were re-signed by the WWF a year later.
They redebuted on the June 18, 1988 episode of Superstars. Because of WWF chairman Vince McMahon's desire to have his performers carry WWF-exclusive monikers, they were repackaged as just "The Rockers".

The energetic team proved popular with both children and women, as well as 'smart' fans who appreciated technical wrestling. The team were mid-card stalwarts of TV and pay-per-view shows for the next two years, but never seemed to get a fair chance at the WWF's Tag Team Championships.

Their chance belatedly came in October 1990: The Rockers were scheduled to win the WWF Tag Team Championship from The Hart Foundation. Jim Neidhart, half of the championship team, was in the process of negotiating his release from the company.

The match was taped with The Rockers fairly winning the belts, but soon after, Neidhart came to a stopgap agreement with management and was rehired. The belts were returned to the Harts, while the change was never broadcast or even acknowledged on TV. When news spread, WWF explained that the original result was void due to a collapsed turnbuckle in the ring during the bout. A buckle had indeed broken, but not to a noticeable or dangerous extent during the match.

The duo plodded along, eventually splitting on December 2, 1991 during an incident on Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake's televised "Barber Shop" talk show segment. Michaels superkicked Jannetty and threw him through a glass window on the 'shop' set. Jannetty vanished from the WWF and Michaels turned heel as "The Boy Toy". His nickname was later changed to "The Heartbreak Kid", at Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig's suggestion.

[edit] The Heartbreak Kid
In his new gimmick as a vain, cocky heel, he was put together with mirror-carrying manager "Sensational" Sherri, who, according to the storyline, had become infatuated with him. Sherri even sang the first version of his new theme music "Sexy Boy."

During that period, Michaels normally wrestled during the first half of house shows, and had his departure announced with the words "Shawn Michaels has left the building" (alluding to the phrase "Elvis has left the building").

Michaels failed to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship from Bret Hart in July 1992, even losing the WWF's first ever Ladder match against him. Still, Michaels was beginning to get over as a heel. He won the WWF Intercontinental Championship from "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith during Saturday Night's Main Event on October 27, 1992. Shortly thereafter, he faced — and lost to — future nemesis Bret Hart, for the WWF Championship in the main event of the 1992 Survivor Series.

Michaels and Sherri split at this point, and Jannetty quickly reappeared, leading to several memorable matches. After sneaking past Tatanka in early 1993, Michaels lost his Intercontinental Championship to Jannetty on Monday Night RAW on May 17, 1993. He then regained it on June 6, 1993 with the help of his debuting "bodyguard" (and off-air friend) Diesel.

After a much-hyped but ultimately disappointing feud with Mr. Perfect, Michaels quit the WWF in September 1993. It was announced that Michaels had failed to defend his belt enough times during a set period; in reality, he had been suspended for testing positive for steroids — a charge that Michaels denies to this day.

After turning down WCW's advances, Michaels returned to the WWF and made several appearances in the United States Wrestling Association during a WWF/USWA cross-promotion. He returned to WWF television for November's 1993 Survivor Series, substituting for the arrested Jerry Lawler in a match pitting himself and three of Lawler's "Knights" against Bret, Bruce, Keith, and Owen Hart.

He soon entered a feud with Razor Ramon, who had won the vacated Intercontinental Title during Michaels' absence. Since Michaels had never been defeated in the ring for the title, he claimed to be the rightful champion and even carried around his old title belt.

This feud culminated in a ladder match between the two at WrestleMania X. Michaels lost the match, which featured both his and Ramon's belts suspended above a ladder in the ring. This match won "Match of the Year" awards from Pro Wrestling Illustrated and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It also earned Michaels a reputation of being the "Innovator of the Ladder Match", when in reality it was Bret Hart who brought in the idea two years previously from the Stampede Wrestling promotion.

Michaels battled various injuries over the next few months, and soon launched the "Heartbreak Hotel" TV talk show segment, mainly shown on WWF Superstars.

On August 28, 1994, Michaels and his ever more popular sidekick, Diesel, captured the WWF World Tag Team Championship from The Headshrinkers. During their brief time as a tag team, they used a variation of the Headshrinkers' finishing move, where Michaels would finish off their opponent by climbing on Diesel's shoulders and splashing on their opponents. The next day, at SummerSlam 1994, Diesel lost the Intercontinental Title to Ramon when Michaels accidentally Superkicked his bodyguard.

This triggered a Michaels-Diesel split, drawn out until the Survivor Series 1994 that November due to Michaels' hand injury at the time. Michaels went on to win the 1995 Royal Rumble, setting up a championship/grudge match at WrestleMania XI against Diesel. Michaels recruited Sid as his bodyguard for the build-up, lost the match, and then was turned on by Sid the following night.

As Sid challenged Diesel for the gold, Michaels took time off. He returned to the ring, as a 'babyface', in June 1995, and toppled Jeff Jarrett in July 1995 for his third Intercontinental Title. This would lead to a title defense against Razor Ramon at SummerSlam 1995, in a Ladder Match, which Michaels won.

Around this time, Michaels became the alleged leader of a backstage group known as The Clique/Kliq, which others perceived had sufficient clout with WWF owner Vince McMahon, to become the dominant wrestling figures in the promotion for several years in the mid-1990s. Michaels disputes the perception, saying that McMahon pushed only deserving wrestlers. Shawn's fanbase was later nicknamed "The Kliq" as an inside reference to the real "Clique."

In October 1995, he was attacked by several men outside a Syracuse, New York, bar. Shortly afterwards, at the In Your House: Great White North PPV Michaels forfeited the Intercontinental Title to real-life enemy Dean Douglas as he was, according to the WWF, unable to compete. However, Douglas lost the title immediately to Clique member Razor Ramon. Douglas maintained that Michaels could have wrestled that night and simply didn't want to put him over.

The next month, during a match with Owen Hart on Monday Night RAW, Owen nailed Michaels with an Enzuigiri kick to the back of Michaels' head. They continued to wrestle, but Michaels then collapsed in the ring, supposedly because he had suffered a concussion in the Syracuse incident. The concussion was a work, skillfully kept from most fans at the time.

After teasing a retirement, Michaels announced that he would be returning to the WWF at the 1996 Royal Rumble match, which he won for the second year in a row. Around this time, Jose Lothario, Michaels' original trainer, became his on-screen manager.

Michaels won his first WWF Championship at WrestleMania XII in March 1996, pinning Bret Hart in the 'sudden death' overtime of their a sixty minute Iron Man match, which had ended in a 0-0 tie. As WCW gained momentum due to the signings of Michaels' friends Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, Michaels soldiered on as champion for most of the year, notably overcoming Mankind, Vader and The British Bulldog in pay-per-view battles.

At SummerSlam 1996 in his main event WWF championship match with Vader, Shawn notoriously became agitated during the match when Vader misheard Shawn and didnt move out of the way on his subsequent elbow drop. Shawn changed direction in mid air upon realising Vader wasnt going to move and then shouts loudly "move!" whilst stamping legitimately on Vader's head. Shawn admitted in a later recorded shoot interview that Mankind, suggested that during their match at In Your House: Mind Games, Shawn should re-enact his genuine heat with Vader during match against Mankind and perform the same stamp sequence seen at SummerSlam a month earlier.

Michaels' title reign colorfully ended at the 1996 Survivor Series in November, where he lost to Sycho Sid, his former bodyguard, at Madison Square Garden in a face vs. face match. This match was notable for the New York fans cheering for Sid when he hit both Michaels and Jose Lothario with a television camera and cheering again when he won the match and championship. A flu-ridden Michaels recaptured the belt from Sid in January at the 1997 Royal Rumble in front of his hometown fans in San Antonio.

Michaels was supposed to defend (and lose) his title at a WrestleMania 13 rematch with Bret Hart but he gave up the title on a special episode of RAW dubbed Thursday RAW Thursday[1], broadcast live on the USA Network on February 13, 1997. This speech was regarded as controversial, as Michaels was alledgedly unwilling to lose to Bret Hart at WrestleMania. Michaels had been told by doctors that a knee injury was bad enough to have to retire, and knowing that Michaels' knee was bad, Bret Hart mapped out a novel ending for their planned WrestleMania match: Hart would catch Michaels' right leg as he attempted to execute his superkick finisher and twist it. Michaels' leg would thus 'break', complete with planted 'snapping' sounds coming from under the ring. The ending would allow Michaels to 'lose' the title without quitting or being pinned, and also would allow understandable time out.[citation needed] In the speech, Michaels contemplated thoughts of retirement and stated that he "had to find his smile again", which he had "lost" somewhere down the line. In the end, Bret Hart resumed his feud with Steve Austin for WrestleMania 13, and Michaels did color commentary at the event.

After knee surgery by Dr. James Andrews, he miraculously returned a few months later, briefly teaming with Steve Austin to win the WWF Tag Team titles. However, after a real life backstage fight with Bret Hart, Michaels quit the WWF, until Vince McMahon convinced Michaels otherwise, and gave him the role of a heel.

At SummerSlam 1997, Michaels officiated the WWF title match between WWF Champion The Undertaker and Bret Hart. The match ended in controversial fashion, with Michaels nailing Undertaker with a chair (unintentionally, as he was aiming for Hart after Bret spat in his face). Michaels was then forced to award the title to his nemesis, Hart, setting the stage for their match at Survivor Series.

Michaels' striking of the Undertaker with a chair began a feud between the two men. In October, at In Your House: Badd Blood, Michaels and Undertaker participated in the very first Hell in a Cell match, which saw Michaels falling off the side of the 15-foot high structure through a table. Michaels won the match with the help of the debut of the Undertaker's brother Kane.

[edit] D-Generation X
In the summer, Michaels joined forces with real-life friend, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Hunter's then-girlfriend, Chyna to form D-Generation X. The group would engage in rebellious behavior, such as pointing to their penis' and telling fans to "Suck It". Moving away from the family-oriented product, this marked the beginning of the WWF Attitude Era. Michaels also began re-feuding with Bret Hart's reformed The Hart Foundation, which was now a pro-Canada stable. Michaels would taunt The Hart Foundation and Canada by engaging in acts, such as blowing his nose with and humping the Canadian Flag. In his book, Heartbreak & Triumph, Michaels claims the flag desecration was Bret Hart's idea.

Michaels' feud with the Hart Foundation culminated in a title shot at the 1997 Survivor Series against Bret Hart in what is thought to be the most controversial match in wrestling history. Michaels came out of this match, known "affectionately" by fans as the Montreal Screwjob, as the WWF World Champion.

Michaels thus became the only wrestler to hold both the World Championship and the European Championship at the same time. However, he would have himself pinned by Triple H in December in a farcical match, making Hunter the European Champion.

[edit] Injury
In 1998, a back injury that Michaels received in the Casket match against the Undertaker at the 1998 Royal Rumble (where Michaels took a back body drop to the outside, smashing his lower back on the casket causing him to herniate two discs and crushing one completely) forced Michaels into retirement after losing the WWF Championship to Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIV. Prior to losing the belt, Michaels would, along with DX allies, make regular appearances much like Steve Austin did the previous year after injuring his neck at SummerSlam.

Michaels would return to the WWF on November 23, 1998, but not as a wrestler; instead, he replaced Sgt. Slaughter as the WWF Commissioner, joining Vince McMahon's Corporation stable as a heel. Throughout late 1998 and early 1999, Michaels would make regular TV appearances, booking matches, stamping down his authority and sometimes deciding the outcome of matches. In early 1999, Michaels turned face and re-joined D-Generation X, but disappeared from WWF television for a few months, and by the time he had returned DX had broken up.

Michaels would make occasional appearances on WWF television as commissioner as a face during the spring and summer of 1999. He turned heel once again during the premiere episode of SmackDown! on August 26, 1999 when, while serving as a special guest referee, he superkicked The Rock, allowing Triple H to retain the WWF Championship. However, Michaels would not appear on WWF television until May 21, 2000, once again as a face, to officiate the Iron Man match between the Rock and Triple H. He would make one last appearance a month later, when he would hand over the role of commissioner to Mick Foley, becoming the official spokesperson for the WWF. Michaels then disappeared from WWF television for nearly a year.

Michaels' prolonged absences were the result of his opening of the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy in early 1999. In February 2001, Michaels signed a multi year contract extension with the WWF.

[edit] Return to RAW
In 2002, Michaels returned to wrestling, brought in by Kevin Nash as a new member of the nWo. After the nWo was disbanded, Triple H apparently wanted to mend ties with Michaels. This was solidified when Michaels beseeched Triple H to return to RAW. Later on, they came down to the ring with their D-Generation X music and attire. When they were about to do their trademark "Suck It" taunt, Triple H nailed Michaels with the Pedigree. A week later, Triple H attacked Michaels from behind in a parking lot and put his head through a car window. Michaels surprised everyone by challenging Triple H to "a fight" (a non-sanctioned match) at SummerSlam 2002, which Triple H accepted.

Michaels returned to the ring to wrestle a match against Triple H at SummerSlam 2002, laying the foundation for a feud that would last for years. This match was noted for Michaels' emotional in-ring return after more than four years on the shelf. Michaels won the SummerSlam match but was attacked with a sledgehammer by Triple H after the match.

At Survivor Series 2002, Michaels won the World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H in the first-ever Elimination Chamber match, which also featured Rob Van Dam, Kane, Chris Jericho and Booker T. Michaels eliminated both Jericho and Triple H to win the match. A month later, Michaels lost the World Championship to Triple H in a Three Stages Of Hell match at Armageddon 2002.

[edit] 2003-2004
Michaels then proceeded to feud with Chris Jericho. On January 13, 2003, Jericho won an over-the-top-rope challenge to select his entry number for the Royal Rumble, choosing number two in order to start the match with Michaels, who had already been named number one. At the Royal Rumble, Jericho, with the help of Christian, eliminated Michaels. Michaels defeated Jericho at WrestleMania XIX. After the match, HBK offered his hand to Chris Jericho who, instead of shaking it, hugged Michaels. At first it seemed like good sportsmanship by Chris Jericho but he quickly kicked Michaels in the groin.

Michaels then formed a tag team with the returning Kevin Nash and feuded with Triple H's Evolution stable. At SummerSlam 2003 he competed in the second-ever Elimination Chamber Match, which also featured Randy Orton, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Goldberg, and eventual winner, World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H. During the match, he helped Chris Jericho eliminate Kevin Nash, which prompted Nash to attack both men before exiting the chamber. Later in the match, Michaels was eliminated by Goldberg. He then went on to feud with Evolution member Randy Orton, who would defeat him at Unforgiven 2003. Michaels then had short feuds with Mark Henry and the new World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg before joining Steve Austin's Survivor Series Team. At Survivor Series 2003, Team Austin (Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Booker T and The Dudley Boyz) faced Team Bischoff (Scott Steiner, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho, Christian and Randy Orton). During the match, Evolution member Batista interfered and gave Michaels the Batista Bomb, costing him the match. Michaels would go on to defeat Batista at Armageddon.

Michaels then entered a Last Man Standing Match against the World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H, at the 2004 edition of the Royal Rumble. The match was a draw, with both men unable to continue. Michaels went on to be in the main event of WrestleMania XX where he came up short in a match against Triple H and Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship. He also came up short in the rematch at Backlash, where he submitted to Benoit's Sharpshooter. At Bad Blood in June, Michaels faced Triple H in a Hell in a Cell match. The match lasted for almost an hour before Triple H pedigreed Michaels for the victory. On the RAW after Bad Blood, Kane attacked Michaels with a steel chair, injuring him (kayfabe) in the process. Michaels made his return at Unforgiven and defeated Kane in a No Disqualification Match. Two months later, he lost a World Heavyweight Championship match against Triple H (after Edge interfered) at Taboo Tuesday 2004 when the fans voted for him ahead of Edge and Chris Benoit to face Triple H one more time. Following this, Michaels was out of action for a few months with a torn meniscus.

[edit] 2005-2006
Michaels returned in January 2005, and was special guest referee in the Elimination Chamber Match (which featured Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge, Randy Orton, Batista, and eventual winner Triple H) at New Year's Revolution 2005. During the match, Michaels Superkicked Edge starting a feud between the two.

Shawn Michaels performing his trademark pose on RAW.At the 2005 Royal Rumble, Michaels was defeated by Edge, who pinned him using the ropes for leverage. Michaels went on to compete in the Rumble match later that night and eliminated Kurt Angle. In retaliation, Angle returned to the ring and eliminated Michaels. Angle then put Michaels in the Ankle Lock. As a result of what happened at the Royal Rumble, Michaels issued a challenge to Angle for a match at WrestleMania 21, which Kurt Angle accepted when he appeared on RAW to attack Michaels. To send a "message" to Michaels before Wrestlemania, Angle put HBK's former manager Sensational Sherri in the Ankle Lock on SmackDown. Angle then issued a challenge to Michaels' former tag team partner Marty Jannetty to a match the following week. The next Monday Night on RAW, Jannetty and Michaels had a one time reunion as The Rockers and defeated La Résistance. Then, days later on SmackDown, Angle defeated Jannetty with the Ankle Lock. At WrestleMania 21 on April 3, 2005, Angle defeated Michaels by submission with the Ankle Lock.

The next night on RAW, Muhammad Hassan and Daivari came out to confront and assault Shawn Michaels. The following week, Michaels approached RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff demanding a handicap match with Hassan and Daivari. Bischoff refused but did tell Michaels to find a partner and he would grant a match. Michaels then made a plea for Hulk Hogan to come back and team with him. On the April 18, 2005 episode of RAW, Hassan again led an attack on Michaels until Hogan appeared to save Michaels and accept his offer.

At Backlash 2005 Hassan and Daivari lost to Hogan and Michaels, with Daivari being pinned. Hassan would blame and attack Daivari for the loss the next evening on RAW.

On the July 4, 2005 edition of RAW, Michaels and Hulk Hogan fought Kurt Angle and then-Intercontinental Champion Carlito in a tag team match. During the post-match pose, Michaels hit Hogan with his patented Sweet Chin Music, knocking Hogan to the ground and turning Michaels heel for the first time since returning in 2002.

The following week on RAW, HBK appeared on the Piper's Pit where he superkicked the host Roddy Piper and then challenged Hulk Hogan to a match at SummerSlam 2005. Prior to the 2005 SummerSlam, neither Hogan nor Michaels had lost in a one-on-one match at SummerSlam. Hogan defeated Michaels at SummerSlam. After the match Michaels extended his hand to him, saying "I needed to know, and I found out" and he and Hogan shook hands. Michaels left the ring to allow Hogan to celebrate with the crowd and Michaels turned face once more.

Michaels began a feud with Chris Masters. The pair faced each other in a match at Unforgiven 2005 where Michaels would win via pinfall. At WWE Homecoming, HBK wrestled Kurt Angle to a 2-2 draw in a 30-minute Iron Man match. At Taboo Tuesday 2005, Michaels would win the fans choice for the second year running and become a part of the Triple Threat Match with John Cena and Kurt Angle. Cena would win and retain the WWE Championship.

On the December 5, 2005 edition of RAW, Shawn Michaels competed against The Big Show for his shot in the Elimination Chamber at New Years Revolution, in which he won by DQ when Triple H hit him with a chair for that exact purpose. Shawn Michaels appeared at the Tribute to the Troops where he defeated Triple H with Sweet Chin Music in a Boot Camp Match.

On the following RAW, Vince McMahon lauded Michaels for his part in the Montreal Screwjob. Michaels said he was only being loyal to his company, but said he'd moved on and McMahon should move on as well. McMahon told Michaels he can "screw" him like he screwed Bret Hart, and he began setting unusual stipulations for Michaels' matches and interfering on behalf of Michaels' opponents. At New Year's Revolution, Michaels competed in the fourth Elimination Chamber Match (which also featured Chris Masters, Carlito, Kurt Angle, Kane, and eventual winner, WWE Champion John Cena). During the match he eliminated Kurt Angle, before getting eliminated himself by Carlito.

During the 2006 Royal Rumble, to which Michaels entered twenty fifth, he eliminated MNM and Shelton Benjamin in succession to make it into the final six. At that point, Mr. McMahon’s music hit, and the WWE Chairman made his entrance. As HBK stared down McMahon, Shane McMahon made a surprising appearance, attacking Michaels from behind and eliminating him from the match. An irate HBK flipped out, running back into the ring and nailing Triple H with Sweet Chin Music before chasing the McMahons to the locker room.

After several weeks of attacks and stipulations, Michaels confronted McMahon in the ring and challenged him to a match. McMahon refused and attempted (unsuccessfully) to force Michaels to sign retirement papers, after which Vince and Shane McMahon knocked HBK out with a steel chair, followed by Mr. McMahon booking a match between himself and HBK at WrestleMania 22. During a handicap match against the Spirit Squad Michaels former partner Marty Jannetty came down to help Michaels. Vince McMahon offered Jannetty a contract if he would kiss his ***. The next week on RAW Jannetty refused to kiss McMahons ***, and took Chris Masters' "masterlock challenge" instead. Michaels tried to help Jannetty, which ultimately ended in Shane McMahon forcing a groggy Michaels to kiss Vince's ***.

Michaels and Shane McMahon then met in a Street Fight at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Throughout the match, Vince interfered, allowing Shane to get the upper hand. But Michaels kept kicking out and refused to submit and again got the upper hand, superkicking Shane, but Vince knocked the ref down before the three count. Michaels went after Vince McMahon, which gave Shane enough time to hit Michaels with a low blow from behind. Shane applied the Sharpshooter, and Vince McMahon immediately ordered for the bell to be rung even though Michaels didn't tap out; an allusion to the Montreal Screwjob.

On the RAW before WrestleMania, McMahon made a match between himself and WWE Champion John Cena. The stipulation was that Triple H would be handcuffed in McMahon's corner while Michaels was handcuffed in Cena's corner. During the match, McMahon low blowed Cena and freed Triple H with a second pair of keys. Triple H and McMahon then used a sledgehammer and a steel chair, respectively, to attack Cena and the handcuffed Michaels.

Despite interference from The Spirit Squad and Shane McMahon, Michaels defeated Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania 22 in a bloody No Holds Barred match. The match is noted for being the starting of the DX reunion that was soon to come.

At Backlash 2006, Michaels (with "God" as his tag team partner) lost to Vince and Shane McMahon with help from the Spirit Squad in a no DQ match that saw Michaels suffer a partially broken nose. Michaels would go on to get some revenge on the Spirit Squad in various ways but by May 22, 2006 the Squad would, in storyline, injure Michaels' knee, an angle that was written so Michaels could have surgery on his knee, which had been legitimately injured for some time.

[edit] Return of D-Generation X

Shawn Michaels displaying the DX "X"In 2006, a series of events took place which suggested a reunion of Shawn Michaels and Triple H as D-Generation X starting at WrestleMania 22 where both Shawn Michaels and Triple H performed the crotch chop during their matches. The two continued to deliver chops in the following episodes of WWE RAW as Michaels feuded with Vince McMahon and Triple H went for the WWE Championship, repeatedly butting heads with Vince McMahon in the process.

On the June 12, 2006 edition of RAW, DX officially reunited. During Triple H's gauntlet match against the Spirit Squad, Shawn Michaels came in to help Triple H, and the two did the DX "crotch chops". At Vengeance 2006, DX defeated the Spirit Squad in a 5-on-2 handicap match. After the win, the group continued its sophomoric antics at the expense of The Spirit Squad, Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon and Jonathan Coachman for several weeks. They then defeated the Spirit Squad at WWE Saturday Night Main Event in a 5-2 elimination match, and went on to defeat The McMahons (Vince and Shane) at SummerSlam 2006. They then again defeated The McMahons, but this match also involved Big Show in a Hell in a Cell match at Unforgiven 2006.

At Cyber Sunday 2006 DX took on Rated-RKO (Edge and Randy Orton). The fan-selected referee Eric Bischoff allowed the illegal use of a steel chair to give Rated RKO the ill-gotten win, and the plaudit of being the first tag team to defeat DX in a tag team match since their reformation in June 2006. However, at Survivor Series 2006, Team DX emerged victorious, in a clean sweep of Team Rated-RKO.

[edit] 2007
At New Year's Revolution 2007, Michaels partner, Triple H suffered a (legit) torn right quadriceps during their match with Rated-RKO. Rated-RKO claimed victory over DX, citing the injury as the "end" of DX. On January 15, 2007 HBK lived up to his vow of "dealing" with RKO when he took out Orton with a con-chair-to after a handicap match against Orton and Edge.

On the January 29, 2007 edition of RAW, Michaels captured the World Tag Team Championship for the fourth time from Rated-RKO alongside WWE Champion John Cena. Michaels would later win a triple threat match against Edge and Randy Orton to become the new #1 contender for John Cena´s WWE Championship, whom he teamed with to defeat Batista and the Undertaker in a tag team match at No Way Out 2007.

The song Sexy Boy was originally written for Michaels by Jimmy Hart. Hart thanked Michaels personally for continuing to use the song as his entrance music when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. Michaels' entrance music was originally performed by Sherri Martel until she went face, and then the second version was performed by Shawn Michaels himself with traces of Sherri in the chorus portion of the song. The current version of the song in use today is the original Micheals version. Michaels says that the song was the product of "magic" because how it originally sounded right after recording was simply "brutal."
Since the return of D-Generation X, Michaels uses the DX theme Break It Down, by The Chris Warren Band, even when wrestling in singles competition.

[edit] Trivia
Shawn Michaels posed in a non-nude layout for Playgirl magazine.
Michaels is the first Grand Slam Champion in professional wrestling history. He had won every WWF title at that point:
WWF Intercontinental Championship
WWF European Championship
WWF World Tag Team Championship
WWF Championship
Of Michaels's twelve WWE title reigns, only four ended in competitive matches. He has forfeited the WWF Championship once, forfeited or was stripped of the Intercontinental Championships on two occasions and was stripped of all of his Tag Team Championships, and lost his European Championship by laying down for Triple H as a "Christmas present".
Michaels was in the first televised Ladder Match, Hell in a Cell, Elimination Chamber Match and Iron Man Match. He won all except the Ladder Match.
Michaels has been involved in every Elimination Chamber match except the one from December to Dismember in 2006, serving as referee for one and a participant in the others. His title win in the first Elimination Chamber match in Survivor Series 2002 marked the first time in WWE history that a wrestler had won a World Championship in any type of steel cage match.
Michaels was the first Royal Rumble participant to win the match from the No.1 spot, doing so in 1995.
Michaels is set to star in Jornada del Muerte (Journey of Death) along with Triple H, The Undertaker, John Cena, Bobby Lashley, Batista, Big Show and Kane. [1]
In 2001 while still retired from active wrestling, Shawn Michaels defeated Venom in the Texas Wrestling Alliance to win the Heavyweight Title of the promotion, which Michaels quickly vacated[citation needed]
Michaels' 2007 World Tag Team Title victory was only his second championship since his return from retirement, the first coming back in late 2002 when he was the World Heavyweight Champion.
Michaels won the Royal Rumble 2 years straight, 1995 and 1996.

[edit] Personal life
Michaels marriage to his first wife, Theresa, was brief and ended in divorce. He is now married to former WCW Nitro Girl, Whisper. They were married on March 31, 1999 at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a very small wedding ceremony. The only people present were Shawn Michaels, Rebecca Curci, and an Elvis impersonator.

Michaels and Curci have a son, Cameron Kade (born on January 5, 2000) and a daughter, Cheyenne Michelle (born on August 19, 2004).

Michaels' return to the WWE at SummerSlam 2002 was supposed to be a 'one night only' show; Jim Ross even informed the audience that "Michaels is gonna leave us with something to remember him by" and "this is a one night performance from Shawn Michaels". However, after discovering he could still perform 100% in the ring, he gradually went back into wrestling full-time.

Michaels is ambidextrous. He uses his right hand to draw and color, and his left hand to write. He typically uses his right leg to deliver Sweet Chin Music, but somtimes uses his left leg for an enziguiri.

Michaels is a born again Christian. His ring attire often incorporates cross symbols, and while on the way to the ring, he normally gets down on his knees and mouths a prayer while his pyrotechnics go off. He has been seen in the congregation during a televised service of Cornerstone Church in his hometown of San Antonio. He also appeared on a Trinity Broadcasting Network program along with Sting. [citation needed]

He is a fan of the San Antonio Spurs. He has been seen wearing Spurs merchandise and attending Spurs games. JBL made a reference to Michaels being a season ticket holder during the 2007 Royal Rumble Match. [3]

Michaels is the cousin of TNA wrestler Matt Bentley.

The Slammies

The Forth Award was for USWEST Match Of The Year. The Fifth Award was for Leader Of The New Generation. Shawn won more Slammies then anyone else that night and every award he got he earned.

WrestleMania 12

Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart in a 60 min. iron man match up. Shawn showed everyone why he won best slammin' jammin' entrance. He came sliding down from the ceiling and landing in a pool of Kliq members. Shawn really showed Bret Hart that he was capable of being more then a "tennis ball". Shawn went hold for hold against Bret Hart. In the closing minutes of the 60 min. iron man match Bret got Shawn in the sharpshooter. The clock tick down and the Ref singled for the bell Bret Hart started to leave the arena with the WWF Championship belt when the ring announcer said the match must continue. Bret was ticked. So the match continued until Shawn super kicked Bret not just once but twice. The first one didn't have too much behind it but the second superkick allowed Shawn to get the 1-2-3. When the ref handed Shawn the belt he was on his knees and started to cry tears of joy. And I have to say I joined in. I was so happy for Shawn he finally fulfilled his life long goal and became the WWF Champion. Bret didn't even have the guts to shake Shawn's hand he just left the ring ticked off while Shawn and Jose celebrated their victory.

Shawn vs. Diesel at In Your House

Shawn was going into this no holds barred match the underdog. Shawn was smaller and many believed that he couldn't fight like Diesel. Well surprise surprise surprise Shawn proved to Diesel and everyone else that he can fight better then Big Daddy Cool. Shawn didn't have a high flying entrance this time. He had a look of anger on his face. Shawn took of his jacket and Belt then ran into the ring and kept punching Diesel. Diesel did get the upper hand eventually. Diesel took the refs belt after choking the ref with the tape from around his wrist then he whipped Shawn a few times then he put the belt around Shawn's neck and tied him to the rope. Then Diesel got a chair and hit Shawn with it. Diesel said before the match he had something for Vince we found out what it was. Diesel Jackknifed Shawn on the broadcasting table and Vince was telling Shawn to stay down and let it be over. But no not our boy he didn't want to disappoint the "kliq" Shawn got up and got a fire extinguisher and used it on Big Daddy Cool. Then the band tunedup as Shawn delivered some sweet chin music. Diesel was down for the count 1-2-3 Shawn proved he can hold his own. At In Your House Shawn found himself in yet another feud. This time it would be with the British Bulldog. The following night on RAW Jim, the Bulldog and his wife Diana would have a face to face interview with the Heartbreak kid Shawn Michaels. Shawn started off talking about the match against Diesel. Then Jim jumped in and started calling Shawn a pervert and a lot of other names. Jim accused Shawn of trying to get Diana to sleep with him. Then Diana talked and Said "Shawn I know you want me." Shawn replied with " Mrs. Smith with all due respect please do not flatter yourself." Diana then slapped Shawn across the face. Shawn then said " I guess we know who wears the pants in the Smith family." The bulldog then attacked Shawn, but Shawn held his own just fine.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WWF In Your House MAY 26

The lights came back just in time for us to see the WWF championship be defended by Shawn against the Bulldog. Beware of dog was the theme but before Shawn made his way to the ring he said that The Bulldog should "Beware of the kliq". Then as Shawn went the ring Perfect was there and they bumped in to each other. Jim said that he had some surprises for the Heartbreak Kid one of which was Owen Hart being Davey's manager for that night only. We saw the second surprise when Shawn got in the ring. Shawn was served with a suvpoena for "attempted alienation of affection." Shawn ripped it up and tossed it outside the ring. The match then got underway. It was back and forth when the Bulldog knocked out the ref and Owen got into the ring and tried to jump Shawn he saw it coming and superkicked Owen. Gorilla sent out another ref and Shawn suplexed Davey and both refs counted. One said Davey won the other said Shawn won. Meanwhile Diana took the belt and the Gorilla came down to the ring and said both refs were right and gave the belt to Shawn because a championship can not change hands on a draw. Both wrestlers had been pinned and a rematch will take place at King Of The Ring. Shawn feels he his a thief because he thinks he has robbed the "Kliq" of their believe in him. But I personally think he is being to hard on himself and I will always belive in him win, lose, or draw.

Shawn vs. Davey Boy Smith at King Of The Ring

Camp Cornette dropped the law suit they had against Shawn but they had another surprise for the Heartbreak Kid. Jim Cornette would get to pick a special guest ref and Gorilla agreed to allow Jim to do so because he didn't want the law suit against the WWF or himself. We found out who the special guest Ref would be on Monday Night Raw. It was none other then Mr. Perfect. When it was announced Mr. Perfect was buddy buddy with Jim and many people were worried that he wouldn't call the match down the middle. Before the match Shawn spoke with Mr. Perfect and told him he has the chance to be the perfect ref if he calls it down the middle and raises the hand of the better man. The music started and the Kliq went crazy like they normally do when ever Shawn is around. Then before the match could get under way Gorilla came down to ring side and said Mr. Perfect is the special guest ref BUT he will be outside the ring and another ref would be in the ring. Then the Bulldog and Shawn went at it. The match went back and fourth but Shawn turned out to be the better man that night. Once Again Shawn and the Kliq were victorious.

Shawn, Ahmed, and Sid vs. Camp Cornette

This match was going to be Shawn Ahmed and the Warrior but since the warrior was suspended Shawn and Ahmed had to choose another partner and it was Sid. This was the first time in a long time we were going to see Sid. Many thought Sid could not be trusted and that Shawn and Ahmed had made a dumb choice. But as the night went on everyone who said Sid couldn't be trusted ate their words. Shawn's team was in control until Sid and Ahmed went outside the ring to fight Owne and the Bulldog. Shawn was cueing up the super kick (or sweet chin music) when Jimmy grabbed Shawn's leg allowing Vader to ram in to Shawn. Shawn feel down and that allowed Vader to powerbomb Shawn. Shawn was pinned but thanks to Jim Cornette.

Shawn vs. Vader

Many were saying that Shawn would lose his belt at Summerslam because Shawn was to small and Vader was to big for him to beat. Shawn was the underdog but then again when isn't Shawn considered the underdog? Although Vader out weighed Shawn by 200 pounds Shawn had one thing that Vader didn't...the "kliq". Shawn said this is the time he needed the "kliq" the most and they were there for him. Vader won by a countout...but wait Jim wants Shawn back in the ring calling him a chicken ect...So Shawn got back in the ring. Then Jim tossed the tennis racquet in the ring to Vader while the Refs back was turned But Shawn got it first. Shawn started wacking Vader with it then he started smacking Jim with it and Shawn got disqullified. Once again Vader won but no Jim wasn't happy with that so once more Shawn got back in the ring to fight. Shawn delivered sweet chin music but Vader kicked out then Shawn went to the top with a moonsault and got the 1-2-3. Shawn now would face Mankind at IYH Mind Games.

Shawn vs. Mankind

(Mindgames was the title of this months In Your House.) Shawn was going in as the underdog once again. Mankind had tried to make Shawn nervous earlier in the day on WWF Superstars by running a casket into him but during the match it didn't seem to bother him at all. Mankind came out to the ring in the same casket he had run into Shawn that day. Shawn got a good sized ovation from the crowed and Shawn and mankind went at it. At one point in the match Mankind did get Shawn in the casket but Shawn fought his way out. The two things that stand out the most is Shawn Superkicking Mankind off the top rope and on to the arena floor and when Mankind and Shawn were both on the ropes and they ending up both falling on to the Spanish announce table and broke it. Shawn won the match because after Shawn worked on Mankind's hand for a while he tried to pin him but before the ref to count to 3 Vader came out and attacked Shawn then Sid came out and took care of Vader so Mankind told Paul to open the casket so he could put Shawn in there. Paul had trouble opening the casket and when he finally got it open who popped up? The Undertaker! Paul went running and Undertaker beat up mankind until he left and the Undertaker followed him. Shawn won by DQ.

IYH: Buried Alive

Shawn wasn't on the card to wrestle at this PPV event. But something did take place that involved him. He had to met the winner of the Sid vs. Vader match at the Survior Series in Madison Square Garden. Shawn did comentary during the match. The winner of the match was Sid. Shawn went into the ring and congradulated Sid on his victory. The two would meet at the 1996 Survivor Series.

Shawn vs. Sid 1996 Survivor Series

The 1996 Survivor Series took place in New York City. When Sid came down the isle people went crazy. Shawn got a pretty good welcome also but not as loud as he or many members of the "Kliq" expected. During the match Sid was cheered more loudly then Shawn was and at points Shawn was booed. Sid became the "champion" that night by hitting Jose in the chest with a tv camera. Shawn was very concerned about Jose and cared more about him then retaining the WWF championship belt. Sid also hit Shawn across the back with the camera while he was trying to help out a man who he thought of like a father. Sid then took Shawn into the ring after he had been hit with the camera and gave Shawn the power bomb.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bret vs. Sid at IYH It's Time

Shawn wasn't on the card to wrestle but since he would meet the winner at the 1997 Royal Rumble Shawn came to ringside to do comentary. BUT during a WWF tv show Superstars Shawn made it very clear he was fed up with Bret Hart and he had had it with Bret making Fun of him so he didn't care who he faced even though earlier he made the statement he wanted Sid for what he did to Jose. Bret told Dok to tell Shawn if he interfears Shawn will have H*!! to pay. Shawn came out during a interview Dok was having with Bret Hart and told him not to send any messagers if he had something to say he can say to his face. Bret didn't have to much to say back to Shawn. Then when Sid had a interview Shawn jumped Sid and Bret came out and Sid and Bret both started to beat on Shawn. When Bret turned his back Sid hit him from behind. During the Sid Bret match Shawn stayed sitted until Bret came to were Shawn was sitting to take his chair Shawn said if you want it take it. Sid came down and put his hands on Shawn's face and shoved him. That made Shawn upset so he steped up on the apron and Bret ran into him and knocked Hb off and he hit his head on a chair. Bret focased on Shawn instead of the match and Sid power bombed him. Shawn would face Sid at the 1997 Royal Rumble. The following night on RAW Bret blamed Shawn for his loss.

Shawn vs. Sid at the 1997 Royal Rumble

San Antonio Shawn's hometown is where the 1997 Royal Rumble took place. When Shawn walked down to ring side the people of San Antonio went crazy. This would be the last time Jose would be in Shawn's corner. Shawn was looking to seek revenge on Sid for what Sid did to Jose at the Survivor Series. Shawn took the tv camera and hit Sid with it. Shawn nailed sweet chin music and won the WWF championship belt for the 2cd time in his hometown of San Antiono.

Shawn Feb 13th Raw

In Lowell Mass, Shawn tearfully gave up the WWF belt due to a knee injury. Shawn did not return to wrestle for a long time. He did interviews and would run out and beat the Hart Foundation with chairs.

1997 Slammies

Shawn won 2 awards that night. He won Best finishing move and Match of the Year. He teased Bret saying I won that match and I beat you with that move. At Wrestlemania 13 Shawn did comentary during the Sid Undertaker match.

Shawn first match back: won tag titles with Austin

Shawn Michaels first match back was a tag match with Steve Austion vs. Owen Hart and the Bulldog. Shawn and Steve were reluctant to tag with each other to say the least. But none the less they defeated the tag team champs when Shawn Michaels gave sweet chin music to the bulldog allowing Steve Austin to pin him. After the Match the rest of the hart Foundation with the exception of Bret came down and attacked Shawn. Steve decided to go jump Bret instea of help his tag partner. Shawn later yelled at Steve to get his act together and help him out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shawn vs. Steve Austin and the 1997 King of the Ring

It was suppose to be Shawn vs. Bret but Bret's knee was still injured so Pillman backed out of his match with Austin so Shawn and Austin could settle their differences. Shawn and Steve beat the heck out of each other and they both hit their, finishing manveurs but the Ref was knocked out. When he came too Austin gave him the ref the Stone Cold Stunner and the another ref came out and Shawn nailed him with chin music. The result was a double dq. Shawn and Steve beat each other some more then left the ring side by side because neither wanted to turn their back on each other.

Shawn Special guest ref at SummerSlam!

Shawn was the special guest ref in the main event. The Undertaker vs. Bret Hart. In is interview during the free for all Shawn stated "I stand for truth, justice, and the HBK way!" And IMO I think Shawn was a fair ref. He called everything right down the middle. Bret Hart spit in Shawn's face and Shawn grabed a chair and went to hit Bret over the head BUT Bret ducked and Shawn hit the Undertaker instead. Shawn was forced to count 1-2-3. Bret Hart was the NEW champion. Shawn did hesitate for a second but then he remembered his career was on the line.

Shawn on Raw

Shawn had a interview the next night on RAW and was not given the respect he deserved by the fans or anyone else in the building. Shawn lost his temper and told the fans to go to H*!!. He also found out he would be facing the Undertaker at the next pay per view.

Shawn vs. Mankind on RAW

Shawn once again was not given his proper respect. The fans were chanted things and Shawn again had a few words for the fans. Shawn came out to the ring to face mankind and kick his butt. Shawn won his first match back since June at the king of the Ring. He mentioned his insurance policy who is Rick Rude? or Hunter and Chyna? Both made a appearance on Raw during Shawn's match.

Shawn and Hunter?

Shawn was to team up with Hunter Hearst Helmsley to face the Undertaker and Mankind. Shawn came out and slapped five with the fans and then started to dance with Chyna(she stood there but you could see her smile a bit)Shawn and Hunter worked wonderful as a team. They made great tags. At the end of the match Shawn hit the Undertaker over the head with a chair twice. Cutting the Undertakers head open. Hunter, Shawn and Chyna all left the ring together when the Undertaker sat up. Is this going to be a new tag team. I can dream can't I? How knows dreams do come true right?

Shawn vs. The Undertaker

Shawn faced the Undertaker at IYH. In interviews the Undertaker said that Shawn had signed his own death warrent. Shawn said if he was going down he was taking everyone with him because he was going down in a "blaze of glory". I feel the refs really got the punishment Shawn and the Undertaker just didn't care so when a ref got in the way down he went. There was no winner although, the Undertakers music was played. This match didn't settle anything between Shawn and the Undertaker. So at Bad Blood Shawn and the Undertaker will meet in a cage with a top so no one can get in or out.

Shawn: NEW European Champion

Shawn beat the Bulldog at One Night Only to become the New European Champion AND the ONLY man in WWF history to hold all the belts. I didn't see the match because it wasn't broadcast here in the United States.

Shawn vs. The Undertaker

Bad Blood...That sure was true. Shawn and the Undertaker met in a cage with a top. Hunter, Chyna, and Rick Rude went to the Ring with Shawn. When the Cage lowered they had to leave ringside. The Undertaker ran Shawn face first into the cage several times. Causing Shawn's head to be cut open. His blood was everywhere. Shawn got a lot of punishment that night he fell on to a table but he was the winner. Kane made his first appearance. He was in red and he pulled the cage door of the hinges and tombstoned the Undertaker. Shawn slowly crawled to the Undertaker and got the 1-2-3. Hunter and Chyna came to the ring and helped Shawn back to the locker room. At the Survivor Series Shawn will face Bret Hart for the WWF title.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shawn Vs. Bret at 1997 Survivor Series

Shawn had D-Generation X ( Hunter, Chyna, and Rick Rude) stay in the back and came to ringside alone. On his way to the ring a fan tossed a soda or something in Shawn's face he just shook it off. The match didn't begin for a while because Shawn and Bret were fighting outside the ring. That made it even more obvious this was going to be a fight and not a wrestling match. The two men battled back and forth. When Shawn got the upper hand he put Bret in his own move the sharpshooter. Bret gave up?? and Shawn became the NEW and 3rd time WWF Champion. This match was very controversial but Shawn is the new champ.

Shawn vs. Shamrock

Degeneration X was the subtitle for this IYH. Hunter and Chyna came to the ring with the Heartbreak Kid. This match went back and forth and then Shamrock got Shawn in the ankle lock submission hold but HHH and Chyna were there to make sure Shawn would not give up. Hunter jumped in the ring and hit Shamrock. Shamrock won by DQ but the important thing was Shawn keep his title. Then while Dx was celabrating their victory in retaining the WWF belt out of no where...from behing Owen Hart attacked Shawn and knocked him of the ring apron. Shawn crashed down on a table and then Owen beat Shawn some more. Then when Hunter saw what was going on... he ran to help Shawn but Owen ran away from HHH and into the crowd.

Strip Poker???

D-generation X played strip poker the following night on Raw (Thanks to Chyna's suggustion!). They were going to play until Owen showed up. Shawn didn't play to well...he lost everything but his boxers...well maybe he did paly well...it all depends on how you look at it. ( FYI: HHH lost only his shirt and Chyna was the winner losing nothing.) Again Owen came from no where and attacked Shawn(from behind) and then ran when fellow DX members tried to help Shawn out.

Shawn vs. HHH Lowell, MA

First lets talk about the Christmas present Shawn and HHH gave to the fans of the WWF.(esp. the Women fans!) They both came out in white robes then when they took them off they had on X-mas boxers...very cute. Then they ripped off the Boxers to revel thongs. Then Slaugter came out and said Shawn would have to defend his European title against HHH. DX had many people fooled...they thought this would be the end of DX. HHH ran into Shawn and Shawn fell to the mat just lying there. Then HHH was running from rope to rope then did a body splash (this reminded me of the match HHH had at WM12 against the Warrior.) Then HHH got the 1-2-3. A NEW Champion. This was so funny if you didn't see this you really missed on of the best things DX did. It was classic.

Shawn vs. The Undertaker 1998 Royal Rumble Casket Match

Shawn had DX come to the ring with him. The Undertaker's history in casket matches was very good so he was the odds on fav. At one point both Shawn and the Undertaker were in the casket at the same time but they both managed to get out. The New Age Out Laws (BA Billy Gunn and the Road dog) and the Los Boricuas came down and beat up the Undertaker when Shawn was in the casket and the Undertaker was about to close the lid and become the new wwf champ. The lights went out and Kane's music started. Kane came down and helped clear the ring.(mean while HHH and Chyna got Shawn out of the casket.) Then Kane turned on the Undertaker and slammed him into the casket. Shawn slammed the lid closed and retained his gold.

WWF IYH No Way Out Of Texas

Shawn Michaels was not at this event due to the injury to his back that he substained during the 1998 Royal Rumble.
WrestleMania 14 in Boston Ma

I was there live as far away from the ring as you could get but I was there. And I could still see very well so I'm happy about that. Well, Shawn lost his belt to Steve Austin. But he put on a great show even though he was in pain. Maybe this will quite his critics who say he has never lost a belt before(Which by the way is a lie. He lost the belt to Sid at the SS, he lost the IC belt to Marty). He showed a lot of guts to go out there and he stole the show even though he lost. Mike tyson turned on Dx and counted a quick 1-2-3. Then Tyson punched Shawn. After the PPV went off the air Dx came out and helped Shawn and they were all hugging. I stood up clapped and screamed for HB until he was out of sight. I'm very proud of him:) He did a wonderful job. And I'm still very proud to be a Shawn Michaels fan. Way to go Shawn...you don't need a belt to prove to your fans that your the best!

The following night on RAW HHH said that Shawn dropped the ball and that the ball was in his court. I wonder what will come of this? No matter what does I will always like HHH and there will still be pictures of him because he is great too:) But I have to say: Who is the man? Who is the show stopper? Who is the main event? Who is the headliner? And Who Is the TRUE icon? The survey says: THE HEARTBREAK KID SHAWN MICHAELS!

July 13th Monday Night Raw

The Heartbreak Kid showed up to the delight of all his fans and did commentary for the full 2 hours of RAW! Shawn was sporting a new hair cut...and in my humble opinion it looked very good! He looked very happy to be back and said "I missed ya!" But the best news for me, and his fans is his back seems to be healing very well. If you missed this RAW you missed a lot of funny things said by the one and only TRUE ICON:) Shawn even talked about being on AOL and mentioned some sceen names.

Note: Shawn Michaels WON Loco's Hunk Of The Week by an incrediable 98% of the votes. Loco said that was the largest landslide ever:) Way to go fellow HBK fans!!!!!!!

July 21st Monday Night RAW

HBK was on again but this time it was only for the last two matches. Again he stole the show. No wrestler or anyone in the enertainment biz can make me laugh as much as Shawn can; he has GREAT mike skills. Following RAW Shawn was on the WWF's Code Red show. I didn't attend because I don't have the stuff required to hear it. So if anyone was there and wants to write up a report about it(of course you'd get credit for it) e-mail me your report @ ILuvShawnM@aol.com or leave a message in my tripod "answering machine"

Note: Again Shawn Michaels WON Loco's Hunk Of The Week. If I'm not mistaking he is the ONLY man to win two weeks in a row:) Again WTG fellow HBK fans!

August 24th Monday Night Raw

Shawn Michaels made his return to TV once again. This time he took an active role. He saved Chyna from being kissed by Mark Henry by nailing him with a chair. After that Shawn did commentary for the remainder of the program. What does this mean for Shawn???? Will he be on tv more now???? I don't know but I sure hope so, RAW is always better and more exciting when Shawn's around in my humble opinion.

Sunday Night Heat; Before SummerSlam

Shawn Michaels was a co-host for the full hour of Sunday Night Heat, which aired before WWF's SummerSlam. Shawn also conducted an interview with Sable and ended up dancing with her. Shawn was real cute while dancing, those of you who saw it know what I'm talking about, but I know you all are saying he's cute everytime he dances. Well you're right! But his facial expressions were really what was cute:) Shawn didn't take part in the PPV...so if you didn't order it and you thought you missed Shawn...you didn't!(unless you count about a min. preview for the WWF superstar line.)

11/23/98 Shawn Makes his return as the NEW WWF Commissioner

My heart is still racing from seeing Shawn and hearing the good news about him being the new wwf commissioner. Why is this good news you maybe asking your self, he is apart of team corporate. Well, ask any true Shawn Michaels fan and they will tell you its GREAT news because now at least we will see him on tv more! And we don't have to worry about his injuries getting any worse while we get the enjoyment of seeing Shawn on our tv screens. It was so great to see him smiling and in my opinion I think Shawn was very happy to be on tv and to steal a line from him he is "happy to be in the ring in one form or another." Now, what did Shawn do? He set up X-pac and the rest of DX for a down fall. (note: don't get me wrong I love DX but this is a Shawn Michaels page.) He made his first match X-pac would face The Rock for the WWF Title. During RAW Shawn was seen talking to Vince, Shane, The Rock, Earl, X-pac, Billy, and the Road Dogg.

It was time for the big match. Shawn came down to ringside and made the NAO leave, and made Ken Shamrock and the Big Boss Man leave ringside because he wanted the match to be one on one. Shawn stayed at ringside. At one point he even clapped for X-pac. Then the Rock grabbed a chair and took it into the ring Shawn came in after the Rock and grabbed the chair, only to hit X-pac over the head, thus allowing the Rock to maintain the gold. After the match Shawn hugged Vince, and Shane and along with the Rock they all did crotch chops.

Now a question I've been asked a lot is why did Shawn turn his back on DX? Well it's part of the story line in the WWF, and Shawn did a wonderful job pulling it off if there are so many people wondering this. And if you all think back to the night after WM (which I know was also part of the story line) it was DX who turned their backs on Shawn by kicking him out, and saying he dropped the ball. And who's to say that they story line won't change and Shawn will leave "Team Corporate"? Again it doesn't matter to me I'm happy as many of you are that Shawn is back:)

11/30 Monday Night Raw

Guess what boys and girls! Shawn Michaels was on RAW again, I'm really loving this, hope all of you are has well. Shawn makes a great Commissioner:)

First Shawn came out when X-pac called him out, Shawn told X-pac he is no longer an active wrester he is the Commissioner but since X-pac was ready to go Shawn said he would have to face Ken Shamrock and put up the European Title. Shawn then said hit MY music! And the DX music started to play:) Shawn told X-pac I was DX long before DX was cool.

Then we got to see the Hearbreak Kid again because he did commentary during the Mankind, Bossman match. Which was fitting since it was a ladder match and Shawn is the king of ladder matches:) Shawn was grading Mankinds performance at one point he gave Mankind a -2....you have to love Shawn he is so funny:) Mankind lost his hardcore title and Shawn got in the ring and kicked Mankind and beat him a few times with the nightstick.

Then we saw the Heartbreak Kid one last time before the night was over. He did commentary during the X-pac/Shamrock match. And who made his tv return????? That's right...HUNTER HEARST HELMSLEY, he saved X-pac so X-pac wouldn't loss the European championship. Shawn was very upset and got in the ring a second two late. Shawn was yelling at HHH while HHH and X-pac were going the crotch chops.

12/7/98 HBK double-crossed on RAW

Raw started with HHH, Chyna, & X-pac calling out the New Age Outlaws. (Billy Gunn and the Jesse James or Jammes how ever you like it.) The NAO came out in suits and introduced Shawn Michaels. Shawn & HHH had some words with one another in the ring. And on a personal note I have to say this is a very interesting feud and it's fun to watch. Shawn & HHH work very well with one another in my opinion and even if it's just a war of words and never hits the ring I know I'm looking forward to what will happen next. Also did anyone notice that Chyna, didn't look to happy when HHH had 2 words for Shawn she looked down and the mat and walked away from HHH and went over to X- pac...not that this means anything I'm just wondering if the WWF is going somewhere with this...after all not to long ago Shawn did save Chyna. But we'll have to wait and see. Anyway back to RAW:) Shawn told HHH & X-pac that they would be facing the Big Bossman and Ken Shamrock in a anything goes match, and if the outlaws got involved in the match so be it. Then Shawn told them to hit his music and the DX song started.

Then it was time for the match to start. Shawn and the Outlaws came down to ringside after the match had started and stood at ringside and clapped and cheered for Shamrock and the Bossman. Then came the double cross, Shawn tossed a chair to Shamrock and Billy Gunn jumped into the ring and said he wanted to be the one to hit HHH. But instead of hitting HHH, Billy hit Ken Shamrock and HHH & X-pac won the match by pinfall...because it was an anything goes match. Billy and the Road Dogg tore off the suits to reveal DX shirts. And Shawn was going nuts outside the ring...he was jumping around and yelling.(He didn't to be in any pain...hopefully this is a great sign that is back is healing.) At one point his hair was out of the ponytail and the last we saw of Shawn he was screaming back at the ring.

12/13 Shawn Michaels On Heat and the PPV

Shawn Michaels was on Sunday Night Heat before the PPV started and told HHH and Chyna they were banned from ringside during the tag team title match. He also told the Outlaws they would have a "warm up" match right there on Heat.

Shawn was on the PPV a few times. The first time we saw Shawn was after the Jeff Jarrett/Goldust match. Debra hit Goldust with Jeff's guitar, and Shawn said that since Debra brought the guitar in the ring Jeff Jarrett lost and she would have to strip instead of Goldust. Then Shawn was making all kinds of comments and pulled out his money and stuff like that. Then he said "I love my job" and he was just being Shawn.

Then Shawn came to the ring with the Bossman and Shamrock. Shawn was very cute at ringside, he was jumping around and just having a good time. One of the cute things Shawn said was when he poked the Road Dogg with the nightstick and said "I'm just seeing if he is still alive." He had lots of cute little lines...as he always does. The Outlaws won and Shawn was mad and jumped in the ring and took off his jacket and tie and was screaming.

12/14 Shawn's Revenge

Raw opened with DX dressed as Team Corporate. But I have some advice for Jason Sensation stick to Owen, Bret, and Steve you do them better you actually sound like them. And I know I'm not the only one who thinks he didn't sound anything like Shawn, people have e-mailed me and said the same thing. As the WWF use to say don't except cheep imitations:) I personaly wasn't insulted or mad about what Jason said because it was a skit...but I didn't find his part funny. After all I've been a fan of Shawn's for a long time(as many of you have) and I can't even remember how many times I've heard people say the same stuff about Shawn. So I guess I was use to hearing it.

Then the real deal came out the one and only Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. He said the Outlaws would have to face Ken Shamrock and the Bossman again for the titles. HHH would also have to face the Rock for the WWF title.

In the tag match Shawn distracted Billy several times and at one point he was able to hit him in the head with the nightstick. Shamrock but on his angle lock and since Billy was out cold...we have new tag team champions, Shamrock & Bossman.

During HHH & the Rock's match Shawn was out there and was able to distract HHH a few times but nothing major. He even got in the ring at one point while HHH was covering the Rock. Chyna and Shawn had a little "fight" on the outside and we saw a new member for team corporate. He attacked HHH and the Rock keep his title. He is a very tall handsome blonde. Who from what I read will be called Test. Finally someone else I can cheer for in team corporate besides Shawn:)

12/20 Shawn On WWF Superstars

Shawn was on WWF superstars for a little while during the end of the show on Star tracks. Footage was shown of Shawn in Australia. He was shown sitting outside for a little bit then on a radio program. He was so cute:)

12/20 Shawn Michaels On Sunday Night Heat

Shawn was seen 3 times on Sunday Night Heat. Twice he was seen talking with team corporate, then he came to the Ring with the Rock for the "fatal 4 way match".

12/20 Shawn on A&E for the Hitman Hart wrestling with shadows video

Shawn was seen a few times on this A&E special. He was even seen "wrestling" with one of Bret's kids and that was very cute. There were some other clips of Shawn shown during the night...but the one of him playing with one of Bret's kids was by far the cutest.

12/21/98 Shawn Michaels on Raw in a Santa hat

Shawn was on RAW a few times and I must say he looks so adorable in the Santa hat. When I first saw him I couldn't help but go awwww. Anyway down to business. Shawn came out at the beginning of RAW and said in a game show announcer's voice that Billy would face Ken Shamrock, Road Doggy - Doggy (that's what Shawn called him) would have to face the Big Boss Man and HHH & X-pac would have to face Test and the Rock. Shawn came back out after Billy won the match against Ken Shamrock and said that he won the match but not the IC belt. Then we saw Shawn when Shane was facing Mankind. Shawn was holding the corporate team back from running down to the ring. The last time we saw Shawn was during the tag match. HHH & X-pac Vs. Test and the Rock. Shawn said DX would have to leave the ringside area while team corporate stayed. Then Vince came out and told Shawn to let DX stay. Shawn didn't play much of a role in the match but he was very funny to watch as he cheered for Test and the Rock.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12/27 Shawn on Sunday Night Heat

First I have to say that Shawn looked so cute...as always. He was wearing a suit but he had no shirt on under the jacket and just a tie around his neck:) He was backstage talking to Kane and he walked Kane to the ring for his match vs. X-pac. Shawn told DX to take it to the back while he stayed at ringside:) Kane won and Shawn, Vince, and Shane told Kane to chokeslam and tombstone X-pac.

12/28 Shawn Michaels Fired?

Shawn Michaels was fired as the WWF commissioner tonight on RAW. Shawn started to walk away from Vince after he was fired but then he turned back around a nailed Vince with some very sweet chin music:) It's nice to see that move again and Shawn didn't seem to be in any pain but I still hope he doesn't push himself. After nailing VK with some sweet chin music he took off his tie, tore open his shirt and danced a little bit then ran out into the crowd so team corporate wouldn't catch him.

1/3/99 Shawn Michaels On SNH from his home in San Antonio Texas

Shawn Michaels had a brief interview on Sunday Night Heat from his home in San Antonio Texas. He addressed Vince and the warning Vince gave to Shawn. Shawn said the he was afraid of a lot of things but Vince wasn't one of them and he guaranteed he would be on RAW Monday Night and he told Vince he just might get a kick out of it=)

1/4/99 Monday Night RAW

Shawn was on RAW tonight and had DX with him and told Vince that he had an iron clad contract and he couldn't be fired as commissioner. He could only quit and he said that won't happen. Shawn then told Vince that he has control over all WWF superstars except Steve Austin and since Vince entered the rumble Shawn has control over him as well. Shawn went on to tell Vince that he was no longer number 30 in the Royal Rumble but he was now number 2. Shawn then said hit our music and slapped five with all the members of DX except Chyna; he hugged her. And then they all left together. Backstage Shawn was seen talking with DX.

Then a little while later Shawn was leaving and he gave HHH a hug and HHH gave him keys to a car and Shawn said "I'll see you guys later." After Shawn left the building HHH said "Maybe you will, maybe you won't." Then X-pac said "What comes around goes around." Shawn was shown outside trying to put the keys into the car put they wouldn't fit. Shawn went to the door and started calling for HHH and then you heard a male voice say "Hey Shawn" and Shawn turned around slowly and then there was a commerical. When the WWF came back we saw a bloody Shawn laying face down on the car. Team corporate mainly the bossman were the ones who attacked Shawn. Shawn was loaded into an ambulance and was taking away. (my note: I guess this is the WWF's way to give Shawn time off for his back surgery. I don't know this for sure it's just an educated guess.)

1/25/99 Shawn Michaels on Raw with Stone Cold Steve Austin

Almost a year after Shawn Michaels fought Steve Austin the two were together again but this time on good terms. Steve was in Shawn's house and Shawn told Vince that Steve would be going to WM 15 to fact the champ since Vince waved his rights to the championship match. Shawn was making so many cute faces=) It was nice to see him, he seemed to be having so much fun.

2/14 Shawn Michaels on Sunday Night Heat

Shawn Michaels was on WWF's Sunday Night Heat a few mins before the PPV started. He didn't get to say much because Steve Austin came out and then SNH went off the air. He was doing cute dances though...and he said he would like to punch Vince in the face.

2/15 Shawn Michaels on RAW

Shawn Michaels opened Raw and had Steve and Mankind come out to the ring. Then Vince came out before anything could happen and told Shawn to make a rematch between Mankind and Rock...and the match would be a ladder match. Shawn was so cute...he called the Rock a jabroni at one point which I thought was funny. Again Shawn wasn't on that much so there isn't much to report.

3/28 Shawn Michaels was at WM 15

Shawn wasn't at the WM rage party but he was at WM 15. As always Shawn looked good and was funny. Tons of fans there were chating HBK HBK...something I haven't heard in a while. Shawn told Vince that he wasn't going to be the ref for the Steve Austin/Rock match. Shawn told Vince there is only one man who can name a special ref and it wasn't Vince...it was SHAWN!!!! LOL!!! I think this must have been hard on Shawn going from the main event last year...and having lots of tv time prior to last years WM and this year he was only on for about 5 mins. But it was great to see him=) Shawn Michaels
