There is a product made by Perm Enamel made just
for glass, tile and ceramic. They make glaze with glitter
in it for glass. I have it and it works great. You can get
this at a craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
You can also by glitter spray paint made for glass there as well.

You need to go to your nearest craft store and get the kind of glitter you would like on your jars( get lots of it just in case you don't have enough) and get some stick glue(you might want to get one or two because it takes a while to get it down all the way where you can't use it. I fyou don't plan on putting it on all over the jars, get the "squirt glue" like Elmers. Go home and take the Elmers glue or the stick glue, whatever you got, and put in the places you would like it. Then, take a paper or a towel and lay it down flat. Open the glitter that you got and sprinkle it all over the jar. let it dry overnight and you have your centre piece!

We took elmers glue, mixed it with water so it was thinner, and brushed it on the glass and then sprinkled glitter. But it was REALLY messy and some of it got lumpy, because it was hard to even it out. But thats one idea. I think you could try mixing glue and glitter too.

if it is an allover glitter, I used spray adhesive that I got at at a craft store. I think you can buy that stuff at hardwae stores too. It worked great for me. Spray then sprinkle then spray again.

Use a clear lacquer over the top of the glitter. It might come pre mixed or you can do it yourself

Why not just buy them at the stores where you've seen them?
